The guy that would 'have to come out of nowhere' is on the roster. So unless it is Goodson, Janis, Dorsey or someone who doesn't normally contribute, no one will be surprised. The truth is we will need a bunch of hero's if we are going to dump Seattle in Seattle.
Agreed. It's going to have to be every bit player actually making the plays the are involved in. No whooopsie route running or dropping the ****ing pass. If you're going to beat a great defense, it has to be a shared effort. 1 or 2 skill players aren't going to blow this defense off the field.
No mistakes.
Mike Neal
It will be Cobb!
Mason Crosby with a game winning field goal as time expires.
Boris may have nailed it with his 'prediction' of a ST play, a fumble recovery by a back-up player perhaps. Maybe Cobb returns a kick/punt for a TD?
Otherwise, I'd look for a player like Guion to make a play (ala' Howard Green), or HHCD to come up with an INT.
We have a ton of 'mid-level' guys who could really step up; any of the TEs or Adams on offense; Perry, Daniels, Neal on defense, as examples. We expect our playmakers to do just that, so it wouldn't be a surprise for CM, Peppers, Lacy, and others to have big plays.
With all that said, ARod will be the real hero of this game.
ST play has me thinking of a Micah Hyde punt return.
The ST play will be on the defending side - no blocked kicks and no big returns.
Shields had a huge play on the Dez no-catch by getting his hand in their to disrupt the initial attempt to catch the ball. I'm looking for Shields to have a big game.
With all that said, ARod will be the real hero of this game.
Already is. We wouldn't even be there otherwise.
Fun thread to see who can be the next best supporting cast, but really, it's trivial by comparison.
So absolutely hopeless without him, we put him out there with one leg, and you ask who the hero might be? Come on now.
It takes a TEAM to win a Super Bowl. Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson (even though he was hurt), Clay Matthews, Nick Collins all made Big Splash plays in the last Super Bowl. as did that game's MVP...
Burnett's play has been really good this year, and with him being named one of the D Captains, I expect him to offer great run support, and hopefully help shut down the beast. Which could be the key to the game.
So many guys can step up and make a big play. That is what I like about this team.
CMIII has been quiet but overdue
Hyde already with big plays
The rookies Rodgers and Adams
Tramone is due
Peppers could make another play
Then we have the regulars AR, Nelson, Cobb, Lacy.
Jarrett Boykin catches the game-winning TD on a diving grab in the end zone...
I think Davante Adams will be the offense's hero. Seahawks will double up on Jordy or Cobb leaving Adams with one on one coverage. If he can hang onto the ball, he'll be the hero. I also feel Richard Rodgers will be a big contributor this Sunday, but the hero will be Adams.
From what I understand, Davante will be lining up on Richard Sherman's side.
Time to see what you're made of, young man.
I wouldn't be surprised if Cobb goes against Sherman a few times. Sherman excels against bigger wideouts. Ain't the quickest guy. Used on the right patterns Cobb may be the best bet to get separation.
Weren't there a couple plays in WK1 where Adams had Sherman beat deep and AR didn't see him? That happens with every team in every game but it's good to know it CAN happen vs. SEA.
Sherman can be beat on double moves deep (like an out and up). With time it's doable. Tough with Rodgers' mobility reduced. Avril rushes from the offense's right so its all a calculated risk.
trump, Packers' best success against the run has been with Burnett crowding the line and Ha Ha playing centerfield. No single Packer secondary player is likely to bring down Lynch on any given play, the idea would be to clog running lanes and gang tackle the SOB.
The problem is that this can open up the outside for Wilson on zone reads. A dilemma for defenses, hence why Seattle led the league in rushing.
Tramon and Shields. If those two aren't sick of hearing whether Aaron Rodgers has it in himself to challenge a Seattle DB this time around then I don't know what's going to piss them off.
I hope they both pick off a pass.
Lynch is a different beast and Witten could not run by Burnett.
TE Wilson better be shaded rather than covered because he'll run right by Burnett on the play action.
Romo wasn't going anywhere with his legs Russell Wilson won't hesitate.
You play Burnett at LOS. You are asking to be Kaeperdicked. JMO.
We'll see .... And that's why they play the game
Williams is the classic overachiever and he seems to always come up with the game changing pick when it matters. Hyde for different reasons namely special teams. The guy is a gamer and a big return may be in the works

I think Adams is very similar to TY & OBJ. I'm really hoping Jordy gets on Shermans side. That's what I expected in game #1 but it never happened.
Maybe MM was "saving it" & playing vanilla in case they met again....you know like Belichick played it vanilla on Nov. 30th vs. Green Bay....just in case we meet again.
Last week was the first time I saw a little "don't **** with me" presence from Adams. That's a bad man.

Watchcing playbook right now and they are showing just how fast the seattle DBs are and how good they are jumping routes. My key is yep the OLine holding up long enough to see some double moves....these guys can be beat!!! GO PACK GO!!!
Why the concern over Sherman?
Doesn't look that fast to me.
Distance needed on 4th and 1.
Dick.
My gut tells me there will be no more putting whoever against Sherman.
F him.
MM and the boys are going to run their offense, their way, with all the players they have confidence with... and more.
Pick your poison on if they are covered or not.... rope-a-dope... oh my was that Cobb? Duhvante? Did I just get Jordy'd?
There will be no fear on either side of the field.
Nothing will be left on the table.

Jordy hates letting down his team. He had a rough game last week so he bounces back with a huge one this week. If they can catch Seattle in a situation where Jordy is matched against Sherman with no deep help, they will take it and they will expose him
Jordy 8 for 160 and two TD's.
As for Sherman's side of the field. Stack the other side and make him move off his spot.

slip in Peppers on the banner and I think it would speak enough!
Or you could slip in this years hero on the banner

Now THAT is interesting. I'll bet he would have trouble, at least initially, adjusting to throws on that other side of the field.
They're a good defense. They're a good team & they're the defending world champs. But they aren't the steel curtain of the 70's or the 2000 Ravens as some have suggested. They can & will be beat.
Dick Rodgers is slowly slowly slowly becoming the ChickenHawk killer. This could be huge.
