Bill Simmons had this in a recent article - that if you were the Bucks you wouldn't consider trading Giannis for Anthony Davis. But which players out there would you trade him for at this point? Anyone?

He's locked up for 4 years after this year and he's only 22 years old. He may already be a top 10 player in Buck's history and may end up at #2 - Kareem, Moncrief, Ray Allen, Cummings, Marques Johnson, Dandridge?

If you were considering only the next 1-2 years, who would you want instead of him? The list is pretty short - Durant, LeBron, Harden, and R. Westbrook. Kawhi Leonard?

With 20/20 hindsight, it's hard to believe anyone would have drafted any of these 14 guys in front of Giannis. But you have to give Hammond a huge amount of credit for pulling the trigger when he did.

2012 NBA Draft

  1. Anthony Bennett
  2. Victor Oladipo
  3. Otto Porter
  4. Cody Zeller
  5. Alex Len
  6. Nerlens Noel
  7. Ben McLemore
  8. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
  9. Trey Burke
  10. C.J. McCollum
  11. Michael Carter-Williams
  12. Steven Adams
  13. Kelly Olynyk
  14. Shabazz Muhammad
  15. Giannis Antetokounmpo

Think about that. A few years ago, it would have been a pipe dream to think the Milwaukee Bucks would have one of the leagues most exciting players. Trade him for Westbrook, Davis, Curry, Carmelo, Durant, etc.....Nope, he's got that kind of ability and you see him and know he's not done improving either.

I was laughing the other day when I went to look at each teams statistical leaders. Usually you'll see a guard leading in assists, steals, etc...Center leading in blocked shots, Power forward leading in rebounding, etc....****ing Giannis leads in every significant statistical category for the Bucks !!!! ****ing guy is unreal. Special !!

Wonder if the nimrods at RealGM still want Hammond fired.

It's a lot like Favre... he arrives, and everything's changed.

You can rail on Hammonds all you want but look at his body of work

Giannis and Parker in particular.  Larry Sanders before he went crazy.  Drafting Jennings and parlaying that deal into B Knight and Middleton.  MCW for Snell. Brogdon has a hidden gem.

You can always look at the Alexander flameout and Tobias Harris trade as failures but for every bad move the guy has made 3 decent moves.

Yes- and he's 100% right. It was Terry and Monroe and Brogdon that really lead the charge to get back in it. Down 87-73 going into the 4th after being tied at 52 at halftime was a big hill to climb. But Terry started hitting, Monroe was everywhere, Brogdon finding guys, and then Giannis finished it.

But again- it only helps if they stack it. Home and home, Knicks on Friday at the BC. Gotta keep it going...

I think Brogdon can be an Andre Miller type. He's the ultimate glue guy.

You know that after playing for Tony Bennett he'll play good defense, avoid turnovers, and contribute in a lot of little ways.

And in terms of Jabari Parker, as a person who has been watching the Bucks play (or listening on the radio) since the mid 1970s, it's amazing that our second best player is a 6'8" 250 pound 21 year old averaging 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 50% FG and almost 40% from 3.

Now they just have to develop to where they win 55 games a year instead of 40-45. There is no reason with these 2 that they shouldn't be in that category.

The Knicks were claiming Giannis should have been called for a 5 second violation on that play.

How about try playing some defense?  Oh yeah that's something Carmelo and the Knicks really don't do.

Whiners

That's rich coming from a team with Carmelo Anthony. No one holds the ball for long periods of time on offense more than Carmelo.

It goes without saying, but I'll say it.

Giannis is such a good character guy.  The video of him being posted is an excellent example.  My guess is Parker is the same.

Not just youth, talent, and a ton of potential.  But, high character.

Things are looking so good for our Bucks.

There's another video going around of after the game.  Giannis was on the bus and there was a group of Greek fans outside chanting his name.  He got off the bus to go sign autographs for them and as he was signing, someone offered up a Greek flag for him to sign.  He refused, said it would be disrespectful and that he could never put his name on the flag.

The conversation is in Greek and happens around the 16 second mark, but it is on this forum page.
