I think this was supposed to be humor, and from a jealous fan base perspective I can see why they would want to laugh away their own Entire History of the Franchise Worth of Failings on the Franchise they most want to be.

While I thoroughly enjoyed watching Brett crap the bed and another Paul Allen meltdown in 2009 it pales in comparison to 2010. That 2010 pushed the 2009 blade a little deeper into Viking fan psyche's didn't hurt either.
Long time Packer fans have to go pretty deep before they come up with a memorable moment that didn't involve the Packers.
