If you must win a game, not sure who I would want on the mound more.
I hate that it would only be one year
#Brewers opted not to risk $10 million on Jonathan Schoop. Will talk to GM David Stearns and find out what the plan is at 2B.

David Stearns looking at the Schoop trade in hindsight: "Look, it was a bad deal, and that's on me. We made a trade for a player we thought was going to be here for a year and a half, and I was wrong."

I could see Santana and Peralta for Baumgarner. Especially if could do an extension, even for 1 year, before the trade is finalized.
I'd do that in a second, only the Giants would expect much, much more
Then throw in a couple of AA guys.

Mildly surprised they didnât bring Scope back. But canât fault Stearns either. Need to piece it together until Hiura arrives later this year.
I'd actually love to sign Scope, just not to Ten bills. I get what Stearns did, good for him to admit he ****ed up

Why not just bring him up to start the next year? Is his defense that bad?
I was listening to Stearns a couple of nights ago on a local radio station. Said he wants Hiura to experience AAA ball because he'll see guys that mix in a bit more off-speed stuff at that level. He'll see guys that maybe pitched in the majors briefly and are trying to get back and Stearns thinks that seeing those type of guys will give him the final prep for hitting at the Major league level.
I would also think that the longer they delay on Hiura coming up, it gives them an extra year of control of the contract though I don't know for a fact if it works out that way.
The Cardinals traded 3 prospects to the D-Backs for Paul Goldschmidt. "F" the Cardinals!
I think that is a really good trade for the Cardinals, even for a year (cause they will brainwash him and sign him long term.
Sucks, I used to really like Paul
Eating a Twinkie after rinsing your mouth with scope is nasty.
Could Troy Tulowitzki be converted to a 2nd baseman? It may be worth it for the Brewers to ask him and then sign him to a low cost 1 year deal.
Brewers acquire left handed pitcher from the Rangers. Must be going to turn Burnes into a starter.

Jimmy Nelson avoids arbitration. Gets 3.7 million next year. He got 3.7 million last year to miss the whole year.

Burnes likely was always coming to the rotation but the signing of this loogy affects Burnes' role next season zero percent.
You don't know that, you're just speculating. So why don' t you just STFU!!!

Hooray for the little guy.
Brewer fans will get to see a lot more of Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp. Dodgers traded them to the Reds today.
The Brewers have acquired OF Ben Gamel and RHP Noah Zavolas from Seattle in exchange for OF Domingo Santana. Gamel is the brother of former Brewer Mat Gamel who was an outstanding prospect but 2 ACLs ended his career. And Stearns just keeps on keeping on.
Looks like Zavolas misses a lot of bats. Hopefully that translates to the bigs...
I'm gonna steal a funny post from Brewerfan...
'I was really hoping his name was spelled âBennâ to balance out Mat.'
Brewers in talks with the Yankees for Sonny Gray. Talk of sending Mauricio Dubon to the Yanks.
Not for Dubon. Maybe for Thames and change.
RHP Bobby Wahl, RHP Adam Hill and INF Felix Valerio have been acquired from the New York Mets in exchange for OF Keon Broxton.
Will miss Broxton's defense ,,, but not his bat.
Broxton turns 29 in May. He's not a prospect any more. He is what he is.
Adam Hill has only pitched in Single A, but he's 21 years old and struck out 26 against 7 walks in 15 innings last year. Felix Valerio is only 18 years old and hit .319 in rookie league last year. If one of them is a contributor, the deal looks good down the road. Bobby Wahl has been lit up at the big league level.
Having said that, I'm surprised they did this. Broxton is a good guy to have on the bench during a playoff game. He's a great fielder and an outstanding pinch runner.
Can't have Broxton on the team and sign Bryce Harper
Good job by Stearns IMHO. Rebuild the farm system.
Wahl is another bat misser. Stearns knows the kind of pitching he wants...
And I thought BA meant Brian Anderson.
Much better return than I would have expected for Brox.
Great trade with Mets. Can't steal from Batters box.
Clearing a spot for my second favorite prospect? Ray anyone?
How much are the Brewers willing to give up for possibly one year of Baumgarner? Huria, Dubon, one of the young pitchers like Peralta, Burnes, or others? Maybe Thames?
