As Music City said in another thread, Bledsoe is a guy who can break down a defense and get a shot on the perimeter.
It's nice to get him for a guy that wasn't going to be around next year (Monroe) and a mid teens at best draft pick.
It doesn't solve the rebounding and lack of a physical presence inside, but it makes them less stagnant on offense.
Nice deal - I had read a week ago that Parker would probably have to be included in the deal.
Reggie Miller is hoping Jason Kidd can balance the two players......Bledsoe and the Freak. Both want the ball as shooters might be tough job keeping both happy. (per Dan Patrick show today, if I heard Reggie right). Any truth to that??

Cool right?
I think Bucks have a shot in the East as long as they stay healthy & gel together
Cool yes. Thanks for the tutorial Boris.

Sources: Suns, Bucks have agreed in principle to trade Eric Bledsoe for Greg Monroe and protected 2018 first-round and second-round picks.

Bledsoe, Brogdon, Giannis, Middleton, and Parker may eventually be as good as any top 5 guys in the Eastern conference. The problem is interior defense. You are now relying on Maker and Henson to provide that. As I believe Music City said in another thread, if they'd have been able to get Tyson Chandler from the Suns in the deal it would solve some of those problems. They need a guy who can protect the basket, especially if you are going to play the type of trapping defense that Kidd likes.
I think they need to choose an identity and Monroe was the square peg in this equation. The fact they didn't have to part with Brogdon or Maker is pretty amazing and if he can stay healthy this team got a nice shot in the arm.
Looks like a good trade- especially glad they didn't have to use Brogdon or Thon. Nice that the pick is protected !!!
Makes them awfully thin at Center though, literally. Two skinny guys in Thon and Henson will not hold up for very long- another deal in the works ? Robin Lopez ?
This should push Brogdon to SG and Snell to the bench. Better. Maybe more Freak at C due to having a true PG ? It think this will help Middleton too as he wont be forced to create as much with Bledsoe being the creator.
Good move. (Feel kinda sorry for Monroe though-comes here to be a playoff contender, good locker-room guy, and now to PHX !!!???)
I am happy they got Bledsoe and gave up a person who kills their offense- immediately is their best finishing G. Takes some pressure off Brogdon, and limits Delly’s minutes. Still long, still athletic.
Eventually Giannia plays C in a Parker/Bledsoe/Brogdon/Middleton lineup. Run, boys... run. Snell goes to the bench, then they need some scoring on the second unit. Still more pieces out there... sure would be nice to still have Beasley.
That's the thing - Monroe bogged down their offense and if you are going to run and gun you might as well go all in and that's what adding Bledsoe does for them.

I think having Giannis protect the rim in a Draymond Green-type role in a mini-death lineup is promising. However, Giannis is already prone to foul trouble. They need a Bogut/Zaza type guy to eat up 15-20 minutes at center in the first 3 quarters.
Adrian Wojnarowski reports the outgoing first-round draft pick is protected as follows: the Suns get the Bucks’ pick in 2018 if it falls between picks 11–16, in 2019 if it falls between picks 4–16, 2020 if it falls from 8–30, and it will be unprotected in 2021.

The guy that would have been a good fit for this team was Serge Ibaka. Sure, he's making a crapload of money (20MM next 3 years) but that's the same as Henson and Teletovic combined or Delly and Henson combined.
Ibaka would be the resident tough guy and enforcer they are missing but maybe another guy as rumored is Jahlil Okafor? Supposedly he's close with Jabari Parker but they would need to find a way to dump Henson.
Okafor is considered to be an awful defensive player.
