Let me start by saying that I live near Detroit.  One of my buddies (huge Loins fan) has decided to bet $50 on the money line against the loins for every game this year. His rationale is that he'd pay $50 for a loins win and expecting that they'll lose wins him money every week.  In his mind it's a win/win.

Assuming that you don't believe in superstition/karma would any of you do this for the Packers and, if so, what $ amount would you put up?

Not directly related but I was looking at the schedule for this week and saw some real bargain games to attend.

Bears @ Lions tickets as low as $54
Carolina @ Miami $24
Atl @ Jax $20
NYJ @ Houston $10!!!

I bet weekly, not large amounts, and I never bet on the Packers to win or cover.   If I do bet on a Packer game it's against them on the moneyline for the same reasons your friend does.

I had the Vikings on the moneyline last weekend.   I had forgot about it until I checked my account after the game and it was a nice little pick me up.

I did pick the Vikings over the Pack in my confidence pool this week.  I just thought the Vikes probably had a 55% chance of winning this particular game even though the Pack is a vastly superior team.

3 things worked against the Pack going into this game.  The Pack was severely short in personnel due to all the injuries.  The Vikings are pretty good and more importantly they were desperate to win or they’d effectively be eliminated from contention for the division title.  Add to those things the fact they were at home and I thought they might win this one.

If the Pack was reasonably healthy, they would have won.  They’re not even close to being reasonably healthy right now so facing the decent teams on the road is not ever going to be easy, especially a team as desperate as the Vikings were.

Hey, Pikes! Then as you know, I hate the Vikings with an absolute passion. I do not even own anything purple. I respect the Bears and the rivalry, but the Vikings are like an annoying chihuahua. If my son chooses a college where one of the colors is purple, I don't know what I'll do...

I hear ya Fandame, I had the most beautiful dark purple silky blouse, my favorite.  Have not worn it since we moved to MN.     Loved that blouse.

I'd only bet on the Vikings losing a game or on them screwing up their playoff hopes. Seems like a sure bet, every year! Especially when it has been 44 years since their last Super Bowl appearance. Also, if this last game was played in Prime Time, I think the Packers would have beaten the vikings. Kark does not do well, in Prime Time. Easy money!
