No, I don't think so. With youth registration falling, the problem of concussions, fewer people watching on TV, too many flags, injuries, etc., I don't think the timing for expansion is right. Here's the numbers from this article in SI:

The raw numbers (avg. viewership):

NBC’s Sunday Night Football
2017: 18.175 million
2016: 20.323 million
2015: 22.522 million

ESPN’s Monday Night Football
2017: 10.757 million
2016: 11.390 million
2015: 12.896 million

Thursday Night Football (NBC/CBS/NFL Network)
2017: 10.937 million
2016: 12.438 million
2015: 12.425 million

I'm with you, Goalline. I will always love, and watch, the Packers. But the game itself beyond the green and gold? I find myself liking it less and less as time goes by. The uneven/inconsistent application of the rules. The changing of rules so frequently that I don't even know what half of them are, anymore (and, apparently, neither do the color commentators, or even the refs, themselves). And then there's the guys playing the game. I live just outside of where Valley Ranch was. The Cowboys are always on the news, wherever I go. And they're always drafting, or signing guys that are dirt bags. The Dallas Morning News have referred to the Cowboys as "the suspension kings" on multiple occasions, and that's spot on. No team sport is perfect; there are bad seeds in every game. But it sure seems the NFL has more guys lacking in character. Then, you add in the whole protest silliness. There's a time and a place for making political statements. I watch professional sports to escape all the other BS. These athletes have a platform, and I'm fine with their using their profile to affect change as they see fit. But not during the actual games. If they want to Tweet to their million followers, or go on the local/national news....lead a march, protest, fundraiser, campaign. Good for them. But when they bring that crap onto the field, it seriously ruins my enjoyment.

XFL only attracts bandwagon fans from the rest of the NFL, and wrasslin' fans.  All the best college talent will continue to go to the NFL.

Think of a league made up of all the UDFAs who don't get NFL contracts...

Lots of folks thinking NFL is fixed, what will people think of a league run by the WWE?

I absolutely despised the XFL the first time it came around as I thought it was a horrible WWE/football combination that I thought was a complete joke and I think many others felt the same way.  I wanted the NFL to crush it out of existence quickly and that's exactly what they did... by basically just completely ignoring it and giving it zero publicity either negative or positive.

This time around I am a little bit less fervent in my hatred.  Just like some other posters, I am older now and don't watch as much football as I once did though I still watch plenty.  I know for the most part I am just going to ignore it and hope it goes away, but this time around I won't be too devastated if it sticks around for whatever reason.

The XFL won't do the NFL any favors, but who knows, maybe somehow it will make Roger Goodell actually do something positive and inventive instead of the sh*$y way he has handled his reign as commissioner so far.

Already have the LFL.

McMahon commented that he'd like 2 hr games, no halftime, other structure to speed up the game. Sounds like he will target the ADD fans - aka millennials.

"I don't know what it would be. I don't know if it's going to be another XFL or what it may be or how different I would make it. It seems like in some way it would tie in either with the NFL itself or the owners," McMahon said.
