Any win without CMIII is a huge positive. That guy is this defense; without him there isn't a single player you bother to gameplan for.

11 minute drive with a struggling offense, rookie right tackle with first game experience, clutch 3rd down conversions, and overcoming several long yardage situations on the drive.
MM stealing another timeout from other team by faking he is going for it, just like Lions game. Then we make the FG and it let's us run down the clock again at end of game.

Per MM, Jordy's hammy "flared up" in warm-ups, but he decided to play. "Flared up" again on the catch. MM says it doesn't look serious....so prepare for the season ending IR announcement tomorrow.
+ Thought BJ Raji had a good game; Peterson's big day was from running outside and poor tackling.

One positive is that McCarthy wised up and started helping his Tackle(s) out with a Back or TE. I thought they did a fine job helping Don Barclay out and really Barclay didn't embarrass himself. The running game was certainly up today which also helped Barclay out quite a bit. He was solid as a run blocker also, as evidenced by the fact that they constantly ran behind him and had success. If I'm McCarthy and TJ Lang can play next week, I would think seriously about moving Lang back to LG and giving Barclay the start. Give Barclay some help and let Lang do his thing at LG where he belongs.
One negative is that it's taken McCarthy this long to suck it up and give his Tackle(s) help. Lang's injury may have been a blessing in disguise in that regard. Having a rookie UDFA Tackle out there forced McCarthy do be a little more traditional with his protections. On the other hand, Rodgers did his OLine no favors with how he was holding onto the ball. I mean really, throw it away or settle for something short. There's no shame in dinking and dunking down the field.

Hard to tell if Rodgers is holding the ball too long, the WRs are not getting open, or a combination of both.

WRs had trouble getting open throughout the game. I want to see more no huddle.

I'm okay giving Barclay a start at right tackle. Let him get his feet wet and go for it. Lang was getting Rodgers killed, and while not outstanding, Barclay was able to hold his own and even help the running game. If he absolutely sucks, we can change it back.
Also, I thought Saturday's snaps were better this week. They didn't float back to Rodgers, but got there in a hurry. I thought that helped Rodgers look over the field and get his eyes downfield faster. Not that it helped him get the ball out to the receivers, but I noticed the improvement.

Really hoping Barclay can be a player. The offensive line gets a big boost if he can hold down the RT spot and allow Lang to move back to LG. Lang kinda sucks as a tackle, but he's an above average guard.

This post sums up my thoughts after the game.
No complaints about MM this week from me. In fact it must be hard calling pass plays when your QB refuses to throw the ball half the time. Good thing the running game was working today.
