Thanks Tit!
There have been tape delays of Family Night when it was a scrimmage on NFL network. This year there is this thing called the Hall of Fame Ceremony that seems to be blocking this. I can't see any mentions of rebroadcast so DVR is likely your only option at this point.
Can't wait!
My only hope for this scrimmage...no injuries. If that happens, everything else is gravy.
Who's talkin bout practice
Not a game
I hope 2 TEs step up and seize the bull by the balls in camp. That's the only thing separating this offense from scary good and lethal. Don't care who they are. Only that they do it.
Barring injury, while I appreciate the 2 TE suggestion, for me o-line looms the most significant unknown in terms of translating to a historically lethal offense.
I believe Dick Rodgers can be one. Even for a rookie.
Quarless & Bostick....it is TIME!!
The OL is going to come up nails. Mark it down.
Q and Bostick take over? Fuggedaboutit.
Takeover? No...Just good enough. Yes
Dick Rodgers and Bostick are gonna be the guys, if what's going on early in training camp holds true through the rest of the preseason.
Lyerla, for all the fuss that was made about him, doesn't seem ready to be a member of the 53 yet. A year on the practice squad would do wonders for him.
I just want 2 TEs that block when needed. Find the soft spot and sit down on 3rd and 6 and move the chains. Stretch the middle to open up a Cobb cross or make the 1-1 grab if the D bites on the Cobb cross.
Dont need game breakers. Just guys that get things done consistently. If a D has to account for the TEs. This offense isn't almost unstoppable. It is.
Looking to see three things tonight before next week's pre season game:
1. Will the back end on D show some improvement? Or are they still looking to replace Chuck?
2. Can the OL take it to the next level? Got the back, QB, and perimeter players. Can the heavies show they can take over?
3. Some familiar faces gone off the DL. Can youth and athleticism show they can replace experience?
Not a scrimmage or pre season game but some clues should emerge about what we can expect in next week's pre season game.
What to watch for tonight at Packers Family Night: espn.go.com/blog/green-bayâĶ
Confirmed. Abby torn ACL.
Timesfour was FIRST!!
As expected, the video coverage tonight basically sucks. There must be a Packers rep in the video trailer making decisions about what is shown and what is not--and they are being very conservative. Very frustrating to watch online because it seems so controlled. I understand why, but am starved for info/input nonetheless.
If this is what family night is next year, I'm not bothering to watch. I love watching a practice in person but tv coverage of it is pretty worthless. And there are more commercials than actual action. The family night scrimmage was great on tv. I dont' fault MM and co. for making the decision at all if they feel it is in the best interest of the team. I just won't watch.
We are running the ball well!
Yup. I shut it off, waste of time.
Twitter feeds give more.
We can't stop the ****ing run!
Nice play by Joe Thomas just before the break. Going to try to keep an eye on him for rest of night although it will be very difficult.
This broadcast is so over produced it's painful. There's a segment coming at the viewer every thirty seconds and too many quips. there's no room to take in anything that's going on.
And we have our first injury of the night: Colt Lyerla taken to the locker room in a cart.

good job by dorsey to get both feet down there

He was in the front seat of the cart after he for some reason decided it was a good idea to leap over defender.
Lyerla not so smart. Dolt?
Have to laugh at constant quote for almost 70k at practice: it is 67.3k+. Might as well say it is the better part of 130,000.
Am I reading this correctly? The site costs $1,200/year to run???

Idot jumped over a tackler in a no-tackle drill. The defensive player wasn't diving at his ankles, so he ended up taking a header.
D'oh Lyerla? The few glimpses I saw of Dorsey looked promising. Other than that...pfffft.
I found it to be generally unwatchable. There's no real flow to a practice of that type and it just doesn't make for quality television.
Echo the other thoughts here. The only real useful parts were the skeleton plays, and even then they ran about three of them before the TV station "took a break."
Better than nothing I guess.
