**** yeah Titm. **** yeah.
**** yeah Titm. **** yeah.
There was a lot of second rate football played this Sunday.
Good to finish it off with a solid game between two of the best teams in the league.
Great win and thank you!
Looking forward to that game Dec. 27...
Arizona is 2-0
I don't even want to think of a playoff game in that effin place again. HFA or bust.
HaHa needs to put in some extra time on ball drills. He is going to get several more opportunities this season and needs to come up with picks.
I'm cool with HA HA but haven't seen a face like that since Elway....WILBURRRRRRRRR !
Did Jimmy Graham even play?
That trade hurt both teams. Now the Saints have no one to throw to and the Seahawks have a horrible offensive line.
Telling quote from Collingsworth during the game. Graham can't seem to grasp the way Wilson plays is so different. With Brees, you'd go where you were supposed to go and he'd get it to you. Wilson requires more improv skills, and he doesn't seem to have it. I was watching him and various Packer defenders had him covered. Like Willson, on the other hand....
There may be some truth to that but Brees was never really a statue. He was always pretty mobile so I don't think what Graham has been seeing should be that foreign.

That's pretty interesting. Looking like both teams lost out on that trade... Our coverage on Graham was pretty spot on for the most part. Hyde doesn't have the speed to match up with him, really. Randall does though.
Wilson is a good QB, but he's not in the same class as Brees in regards to understanding defenses. Also, Graham should have asked Jennings about moving on from a HOF passer that you have a strong rapport with.
So true H. So true.

Brees was/is shifty in the pocket so if you want to call that mobile, I guess you can. However, he and Wilson and night and day when comes to the 'type' of QB they are. I would think they would figure out how to use him but it is only week two. Also in the NFL, unlike any other pro sport, systems make players. HOF-er Brees and the system made Graham a top TE just like the system in GB got JJ a nice pay day.
Calling Graham a system TE is pretty stupid.
Did you consider the source?
@chickenbay
It's not as ridiculous as suggesting Brees is simply a "run to a spot and I'll throw it there" QB who never leaves the pocket.
Monty was big...
Ty Montgomery was a big part of the win at a crucial part of the game. The Packers I'm sure would prefer he didn't have to step up, but he did admirably. Protected the ball, YAC, blocked with intention, and brought practice performance into the game. Fantastic work ethic and showed a lot of maturity for a guy who has been in the program for less than six months. He's clearly been investing time to prepare for any opportunity that came along and it paid off. He'll get a lot of reps in practice this week while they let Davante heal. He's earned it.
On the crossing route, Cobb was the primary receiver, but Monty was so wide open.
Three things stood out about Montgomery's play other than his actual catches: one, his being so disciplined on the free play that ultimately became Sherman's PI to drift a bit downfield and then wait for AR to see him; two, his hustling down the field to block for Cobb in the 4Q (and Cobb's awareness to wait for him); and three, after a catch he went over and patted Adams on top of the helmet for his blocking that helped Montgomery gain yards. Those three things, in addition to the catches and YAC, showed me that he's a pro with a good head on his shoulders. No showboating, no over-excitement despite it's his first real action, just a solid day's work to help his team win.

You're dead right. However, it wasn't Graham's choice; he was traded. Graham was actually on record as saying he would retire when Brees did b/c he couldn't imagine playing with a different QB. I doubt he was 100% honest but I think Graham knew what he had in Brees. Kind of feel for Graham......then i realized he's making $10m a year.

His maturity is why he needs more snaps. He's a weapon.

10 Mill isn't enough to wash the ginger away...I still feel sorry for him.
The Graham trade is looking like a bust. 10 million dollar tight end catches one pass?
I bet they would take Unger back if they could. Schneider may be good GM but this move looks pretty questionable.
TT may err on the side of being too cautious while Schneider errs on the side of being too bold. Yet, however critical one might be of TT, his approach keeps the team away from costly, longterm mistakes and avoids the big swings between highs and lows. Also, errors of inactivity are harder to recognize because all you can ask is "what if?" rather than"why the hell did they do that??" with Schneider.
Quite a few questions being raised about the Graham trade in the Seattle media and they don't seem to be particularly impressed so far with the move. Can't really argue with Schneider's overall track record but he takes a little too many risks for my liking.
I'd take Graham in a second. He's a major weapon. I love the Packers WR core over the years, but if were traded to GB tomorrow, he'd instantly be their best threat.
In the last 4 seasons, he's averaged about 88 catches, 1100 yards, and 12 TDs. I don't care who's throwing to you - that's HOF level production for a TE. Brees hasn't looked that great without him either.
The problem may be is that the Seattle TEs have to contribute in the run game to support Lynch and Wilson running. Graham is not a blocking TE. They are either misusing him or he and Wilson just haven't clicked. It's not like Seattle has superstar WRs. Bevell needs to design plays to get him the ball. He's 6'7' and 265 pounds. It's like they traded for a Ferrari and have used him like a Ford truck.
Maybe a little early to call the trade a bust after WK02.
What's the control break down with Carroll and Schneider?
... while Schneider errs on the side of being too bold...
... costly, longterm mistakes...
... "why the hell did they do that??" with Schneider...
As I understand it. They share responsibilities for the draft. Schneider has final say over the 90 they bring to camp. Pete has final say over the 53 that make the final roster.
I don't know what the arrangement is for trades but I assume that's Pete's call given the arrangement of the actual 53 man roster. I haven't seen anything about who has veto power over draft disagreements either. Seeing as they drafted a DL in Frank Clark that liked to roundhouse women in college I'm going with Pete having final say on draft picks.
It's deliberate. Trying to provoke incidents. Usually it's the retaliation that gets caught
This is what struck me after that seeming marathon of a game last night. Four meetings with them in last three years, and I can't recall a clean, flowing game. Seems like for an entire four quarters there's some sort of dirty play, controversy or close call that disrupts the flow of the game.
It almost seems that there are times Carroll and his team realize they are getting beaten and do their best to even the playing field. Nothing necessarily wrong with it in and of itself. Trying to get in the opposing team's head is a proven way to win games. But I also believe the last two contests show that Green Bay is catching onto this scheme. Outside of the rotten third quarter last night, I'd say the Pack has outplayed these chumps in six or seven of the last eight quarters they've both been on the field together.
maybe god told Russell not to throw a lot of passes to Graham... or maybe Graham doesn't drink the special water...

Maybe Graham has taken over where Golden Tate left off....
Golden Graham?
Any word on if the game will be replayed on NFLN?
Someone posted it's already set for Tuesday for NFL Replay

Picturing a Ferrari with a trailer hitch, winch and gunrack.

And the guy looks after the cap has no say? What the hell is going on around here? (To quote someone we know).
Me of little faith (and an early work day start) left yesterday's game early. I figured I would just find out about how much we lost by in the morning. I was a little surprised about the out come. It made my day.
