I think Shannahan is exclusively running the ball just for fun. It’s like someone bet him $50 he couldn’t win an entire game throwing 6 passes.
Defense has no clue.
They're just rushing the ball, but doing it creatively.
No idea who is going to get the ball, and can't stop whoever does.

You can’t make over an entire roster in one season. It’s impossible. Our talent level, across the board, coming off the Ted Thompson era, was awful.
We need a really big offseason. We need to find at least two defensive front seven starters, a receiver and a right tackle or guard.
I don’t mind winning ugly, but I hate losing ugly. Pettine is getting his butt chewed. Maybe a 4-3? Geez, do something!

I'd understand if the Niners came out to open the half and went play action and hit Kittle or Sanders for a long gain. That's how you'd adjust - make them do something else to be successful. Has Pettine just doubled down on the original game plan?

Not going to disagree with the disaster of a game plan, but let's be honest. You have as LB's Martinez, Goodson, and whatever undersized safety they roll in. There is zero speed or impact in that group, nobody who can make a play sideline to sideline.
Well. looks like they will be at 300 yards rushing by the end of this quarter.
