Did anyone text his Mom to make sure it's OK Opie's out late tonight on a school night?

What a game by this kid! That last punt went 70 yards!

A few years ago....Bears / Pack had zero punts in soldier. Last night 17 combined w/9 by Opie Whizbanger. Avg. 48 yards a punt. Who is this?? Ray Guys son?!?!?!

It's Bitch Tribitchky GD. The hype living in chicagoland has been unbearable but life is good

I'm hoping Trubisky plays just well enough to force the Bears to hand over a 30 million dollar a year contract about this time next year. He has a

The Bears went all in on two trades the last couple of years. The Mack trade looks like a home run. The Trubisky trade looks weak. The fact that they traded 3 other good picks to move up one spot to pick Trubisky when Mahomes and Watson were still on the board 7 picks later could haunt the Bears for years. Can you imagine what the Bears would look like with one of those guys at QB?

The result of the two trades is that the Bears are missing a lot of picks in the past draft and in 2020. There was no first round pick this year (or 5th round pick) and they have two 2nd round picks next year, but no first rounder.

My greatest fear coming into this game was that Trubisky and the Bears offense would take a step forward from where they were last year.  Maybe they will, but they definitely didn't show it in that game.  The Pack's D was fantastic, and the Bears helped them out with a lot of silly delay of game penalties.

I can sort of understand the Pack's delay of game penalties, this is their first game in a new offense under a new coach.  No excuse for the Bears having as many delay of game penalties as they did.  Trubisky and their coach did a horrible job of getting plays off in time and that really did help the Pack.

I concur on the assessment above. It's a different team out there on D.

For the first time since Nick Collins, the Packers have a safety that closes fast on the ball once it's released.

Even when Ha Ha seemed to be trying and made a Pro Bowl, he didn't have the closing speed to be really elite. Ha Ha ran a 4.58 40, while Collins and Savage ran 4.36. That's an enormous difference and it shows.

The defense was everything I hoped it would be.  Think BJ Goodson and Owen Burks can only help going forward, as well as Kevin King playing more, Rashan Gary and Josh Jackson getting into the mix, Kingsley Keke, etc.  Not concerned about the offense.  The Bears defense will make anyone look bad, and we're in pre-season mode.  I have confidence will look a lot better as we go forward.  And JK Scott looks to be a great pick a year after he was shaky.  Vikings will be tough, but I can't wait for that match-up.  Will "scout" them this Sunday vs. the Falcons.  And will watch these videos below a few times, read everything, and just enjoy the heck out of it!

Last year, I think the best you could say is that Clark and Alexander were premier players on defense.  This year, that list is much bigger.  And I love the SPEED on the D.  Gute has to add to that in the offseason for the ILBs, as well as perimeter players on offense...

I like the speed as well much different than previous years when the defense looked like it was running in cement.  Now they have that closing speed to catch up.  And not to mention what a difference between Pettines D compared to Ernest Capers.  You can tell they are well coached and know exactly what to do.

Now just please stay healthy!

Just the pure amount of speed on defense jumped off the screen last night. It looked like an assignment sure group that played with confidence which resulted in fast, fast flow to the ball. Not a word about tackling either. That’s how you fix a concern.

Ted has been beaten down for draft mistakes the last 4 years. But Kenny Clark was a monster last night and so was Montravius Adams. Adams won’t show on the star sheet but he was a handful.

Kenny Clark needs an extension. Fast.

The D was marvelous, but to keep it in perspective, it was Trubisky. A couple of those throws later in the game could have been trouble with a better QB. Trubisky could not have done a better job staring down his receiver on the Amos interception, for example. The D speed made a big difference. So much fun to see guys running downhill to make tackles rather than chasing!

As for the O, the Bears have a great, great DL, but it would have been nice for our OL to provide some resistance. And some run blocking would have helped to keep that DL from teeing off on Rodgers. Some of the motion plays were fun to see with Adams running across the backfield -- Cobb would have been a real threat there. I can't wait to see what the O looks like in a couple games!

10 Takes from Bears beat writer: "Nagy has appeared bored with the running game at times." Reminds me of somebody...

Tramon Williams: “(Amos) called it,He came to the sideline and said it. He came up with the play. Big play for Amos, especially here in Chicago.

”We wanted to make Mitch play quarterback. We knew they had a lot of weapons. We knew they were dangerous. We knew all of those things. We knew if we could make Mitch play quarterback, we would have a chance. Plus we got some new toys up front. They did their thing today.”

Translation; we know Mitch can't play quarterback.

Honestly the one guy that really jumped out to me was Savage.  Man is he quick and closes on the ball.

We already knew Alexander and King could run and Raven Greene is an intriguing player (rover) but I agree the team speed on defense was certainly much better and different than we are used to seeing.   Brown, Alexander, King and Savage are 4.4-40 guys and Greene is probably the slowest and he was high 4.4 low 4.5 timed player.

GD. I unfortunately live here (only because they paid me), and have to hear the bullshit, he sucks, but hey don't believe it. Defense only goes so far, the offense has to produce. At least as inept as our offense was, they scored a TD.

My first post in 20 months. ( I was in Antarctica).

Defense wins championships.

Last night was the first time since Reggie and Sean Jones that I recall such a great Defensive performance.

As for our offense, Chicago has a solid D and this was first action for #12 so things will come along.

Gotta stay healthy.

Like a 5 minute discussion today.  WTF ever guys.

I just can't fathom how this narrative continues.  The guy is so ****ing average.  Watching Savage and Amos constantly being around the ball/receivers was just night and day.

I recall hearing something very similar a few years back. Perhaps it's the 'blueprint' for beating the Bores...

“Heard some talk out of the Bears: Packers secondary not working coverage, bigger receivers â€Ķ we heard about it,” Woodson told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “We understand that Jay is excited about his new weapons, but it’s the same-old Jay. We don’t need luck; Jay will throw us the ball.”
