GD. I unfortunately live here (only because they paid me), and have to hear the bullshit, he sucks, but hey don't believe it. Defense only goes so far, the offense has to produce. At least as inept as our offense was, they scored a TD.
Did Rodgers audible?
It wasn't pretty but any win over the Bears is beautiful.
670 was gold last night...fans are already looking to another qb. they are over trubinsky already...crazy.
Often.

Based on how he punted vs the Bears, IMO, Scott is the best punter we've had since Craig Hentrich. A real field flipper!

What a game by this kid! That last punt went 70 yards!
A few years ago....Bears / Pack had zero punts in soldier. Last night 17 combined w/9 by Opie Whizbanger. Avg. 48 yards a punt. Who is this?? Ray Guys son?!?!?!
Ummm, Sheriff Andy's?

I'm hoping Trubisky plays just well enough to force the Bears to hand over a 30 million dollar a year contract about this time next year. He has a
The Bears went all in on two trades the last couple of years. The Mack trade looks like a home run. The Trubisky trade looks weak. The fact that they traded 3 other good picks to move up one spot to pick Trubisky when Mahomes and Watson were still on the board 7 picks later could haunt the Bears for years. Can you imagine what the Bears would look like with one of those guys at QB?
The result of the two trades is that the Bears are missing a lot of picks in the past draft and in 2020. There was no first round pick this year (or 5th round pick) and they have two 2nd round picks next year, but no first rounder.
My greatest fear coming into this game was that Trubisky and the Bears offense would take a step forward from where they were last year. Maybe they will, but they definitely didn't show it in that game. The Pack's D was fantastic, and the Bears helped them out with a lot of silly delay of game penalties.
I can sort of understand the Pack's delay of game penalties, this is their first game in a new offense under a new coach. No excuse for the Bears having as many delay of game penalties as they did. Trubisky and their coach did a horrible job of getting plays off in time and that really did help the Pack.
I think two things played into Trubisky's poor performance... The Packer defense and rust.
The same thing can be said about Rodgers last night... The Bear defense and rust.
Getting out of Soldier Field with a win to start the season off, regardless of it being an ugly game, was freaking massive.
The fact that they get a mini-bye before Week 2 against the Vikings is also huge.
Last year, I think the best you could say is that Clark and Alexander were premier players on defense. This year, that list is much bigger. And I love the SPEED on the D. Gute has to add to that in the offseason for the ILBs, as well as perimeter players on offense...
I concur on the assessment above. It's a different team out there on D.

For the first time since Nick Collins, the Packers have a safety that closes fast on the ball once it's released.
Even when Ha Ha seemed to be trying and made a Pro Bowl, he didn't have the closing speed to be really elite. Ha Ha ran a 4.58 40, while Collins and Savage ran 4.36. That's an enormous difference and it shows.
The defense was everything I hoped it would be. Think BJ Goodson and Owen Burks can only help going forward, as well as Kevin King playing more, Rashan Gary and Josh Jackson getting into the mix, Kingsley Keke, etc. Not concerned about the offense. The Bears defense will make anyone look bad, and we're in pre-season mode. I have confidence will look a lot better as we go forward. And JK Scott looks to be a great pick a year after he was shaky. Vikings will be tough, but I can't wait for that match-up. Will "scout" them this Sunday vs. the Falcons. And will watch these videos below a few times, read everything, and just enjoy the heck out of it!

I like the speed as well much different than previous years when the defense looked like it was running in cement. Now they have that closing speed to catch up. And not to mention what a difference between Pettines D compared to Ernest Capers. You can tell they are well coached and know exactly what to do.
Now just please stay healthy!
A humble Matt Nagy just finished his day-after chat w/ media. He acknowledged:
â Rich Campbell (@Rich_Campbell) September 6, 2019
- He should've taken more opportunities to call runs.
- OL blocking was inconsistent run & pass
- Trubisky didn't have enough in-rhythm, "conviction" throws
- DM32 & TC29 could've had more touches
Just the pure amount of speed on defense jumped off the screen last night. It looked like an assignment sure group that played with confidence which resulted in fast, fast flow to the ball. Not a word about tackling either. Thatâs how you fix a concern.
Ted has been beaten down for draft mistakes the last 4 years. But Kenny Clark was a monster last night and so was Montravius Adams. Adams wonât show on the star sheet but he was a handful.
Kenny Clark needs an extension. Fast.
the first 3rd and short for the bores I chanted for a couple of secs "Kenny Kenny Kenny" - and whatta ya know he freakin' delivered in a big way! so refreshing!
The D was marvelous, but to keep it in perspective, it was Trubisky. A couple of those throws later in the game could have been trouble with a better QB. Trubisky could not have done a better job staring down his receiver on the Amos interception, for example. The D speed made a big difference. So much fun to see guys running downhill to make tackles rather than chasing!
As for the O, the Bears have a great, great DL, but it would have been nice for our OL to provide some resistance. And some run blocking would have helped to keep that DL from teeing off on Rodgers. Some of the motion plays were fun to see with Adams running across the backfield -- Cobb would have been a real threat there. I can't wait to see what the O looks like in a couple games!
98-95 edge to the Packers
10 Takes from Bears beat writer: "Nagy has appeared bored with the running game at times." Reminds me of somebody...
Tramon Williams: â(Amos) called it,He came to the sideline and said it. He came up with the play. Big play for Amos, especially here in Chicago.
âWe wanted to make Mitch play quarterback. We knew they had a lot of weapons. We knew they were dangerous. We knew all of those things. We knew if we could make Mitch play quarterback, we would have a chance. Plus we got some new toys up front. They did their thing today.â
Translation; we know Mitch can't play quarterback.
Honestly the one guy that really jumped out to me was Savage. Man is he quick and closes on the ball.
We already knew Alexander and King could run and Raven Greene is an intriguing player (rover) but I agree the team speed on defense was certainly much better and different than we are used to seeing. Brown, Alexander, King and Savage are 4.4-40 guys and Greene is probably the slowest and he was high 4.4 low 4.5 timed player.
Watching replay.....who here said all they wanted from this offense was the play clock NOT get down to 01 second. I swear EVERY play was at 01.
What's weird to me is this reminded me of that 9-0 Packer victory in New York against the Jets, and I believe Angry Bald Man was the DC for Rex Ryan at the time...

My first post in 20 months. ( I was in Antarctica).
Defense wins championships.
Last night was the first time since Reggie and Sean Jones that I recall such a great Defensive performance.
As for our offense, Chicago has a solid D and this was first action for #12 so things will come along.
Gotta stay healthy.
When your default is to piss your pants on the first drive....you need to check your default settings...I swear, being in the game threads is like being at a horror movie with a bunch of 12-year-olds.

I just can't fathom how this narrative continues. The guy is so ****ing average. Watching Savage and Amos constantly being around the ball/receivers was just night and day.

I recall hearing something very similar a few years back. Perhaps it's the 'blueprint' for beating the Bores...
âHeard some talk out of the Bears: Packers secondary not working coverage, bigger receivers âĶ we heard about it,â Woodson told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. âWe understand that Jay is excited about his new weapons, but itâs the same-old Jay. We donât need luck; Jay will throw us the ball.â
It is the same blueprint. Because it all starts at QB. And "The Bears Still Suck" haven't had a good one since Luckman.

Whatever. Thatâs 3 defensive levels of talent. Trying to contain optimism of how good this defense might be.
