NINE o-line picks in three drafts, maybe six can stick with crappy depth at OLB and none at Safety. If they seriously worry about Bakhtiari's or Jenkins' availability, don't trade two 2s for Watson, stay put, take Pierce and Petit-Frere or Abraham Lucas to come in and strongly compete for a starting tackle spot right away. Then they have a couple more picks for some better depth at edge/safety.

Blame health, influence of others, or whatever, but using 1st and 2nd round picks to select HaHa Clinton-Dix, Damarious Randall, Quentin Rollins, Kevin King, and Josh Jones between 2014-2017 was as poor an allocation of draft resources on defensive backs as one can possibly imagine.

If some are uncomfortable holding Ted Thompson accountable for those selections, fine blame it on the entire FRONT OFFICE, but there can be no dispute that those 5 DB picks were brutal for the franchise and a big reason our defense sucked for so many years.

Except that ha ha was really really good as a rookie.  Good enough to get that team to the SB.  But Peppers and Bostick had other plans.
