Colby Wooden
Player Bio
Wooden signed on to play for the Tigers after a strong career at Archer High School in Georgia. Though he enrolled at Auburn a semester early, he redshirted the 2019 campaign, making four tackles in four games off the bench. Wooden wowed SEC coaches enough in 2020 to land on their All-Freshman Team (42 tackles, 9.5 for loss with four sacks in 11 games, 10 starts) and then started all 13 games in 2021 (61 tackles, 8.5 for loss with five sacks, two pass breakups, one blocked kick). He started all 12 games in 2022, recording 45 stops (11.5 for loss with six sacks), three pass breakups and a team-high three forced fumbles. -- by Chad Reuter

Packers scout says that they will start Wooden inside but they think he can play over any gap and will be moved around.

He's quick, he's athletic. Some guys are athletic but not loose. He has quickness and fluidity of an athletic player.

They did use him some in a two-point stance some because of his athletic abiliity, but indicated he's more of a guy who will have his hand down and will play inside and outside.

Sweet, the next Montravious Adams! 😉

Just kidding, they are D-Linemen from the same school but after that the comparisons stop.  Like PackerPatrick said, the lack of size is a concern, he’ll almost have to be a situational pass rusher only to begin his career.  Who knows, if he can put some weight on without losing too much quickness/speed maybe he can be something more than a situational player.
