He's there to press Anders. If it's close, they'll keep Anders.

Yup.
The other thing you get with a kicking competition is finding out if your snapper and holder are part of the issue on misses. There were some shortcomings there last season and GB now has competition at LS and punter/holder too.

And lastly, we now have a new kickoff routine and strategery- so having extra kickers in camp allows them to practice a plethora of options without burning out one guys' leg.

I think Anders + Bisaccia will be fine for 2024

.
There's been a lot of handwringing over the kicker competition in Titletown this summer

Currently, Anders ( aka Blonders) is hitting just over 80 % on FGs in camp

Here's Mason Crosby's stats - he was at 79 % for the first 4 years of his career and finished at 81 % after 16 seasons.

The league is different now, but I have to think Bisaccia can squeeze another 7-10% out of his 2nd Carlson pupil; brother Daniel is hitting at 88% these days and that's plenty good enough.

Note:

Its vewy vewy important that we all have positive thoughts as Anders steps up to make his kicks this year.  So I'm trying some classical conditioning training.

These positive images are what you think about at the Moment of Truth.

Think of it as Anders splitting their uprights

Probably time for Rich Bisaccia to receive increased scrutiny.

The organization's ROI for him hasn't been ideal.

Moral to the story: really no need to draft a kicker.

Disagree. They drafted Mason Crosby with a 6th. It just didn't work out with Carlson. 🀷🏻

I'm going to close this thread. Onward....
