2023 Green Bay Packers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Official Game Thread

@RapSheet:  While #Packers coach Matt LaFleur said there is optimism that RB Aaron Jones plays today, source says AJ Dillon is not expected to go. Dillon is dealing with a broken thumb, but was trying to play.

Curious that Toure is inactive given that he looked good Monday night.

Bo Melton is active in his place, he may be the fastest player on the team and this may suggest MLF realizing he needs a deep threat with Watson out to open up the field for the other receiving options.

At the start of the week, it sure looked like Reed and Wicks would be out. Amazing they are active.

As far as Jaire goes, just odd. But it is what it is.

Alexander has missed 23 of the last 48 games. That's a lot of games to miss without suffering an injury that required surgery.

Jaire Alexander has (so far) missed out on earning $1,044,117 of his contract for the 2023 season. $700,000 missed from skipping offseason workouts. $344,117 missed (so far) from missed per-game bonuses.

He is either trade material at the end of the season or the Packers don't want to give him a big injury settlement when he is cut in the off season.

He's extremely stylish though which helps compensate for his inability to show up on game day.

Besides the Packer obviously we need the Browns over Bears.  Want any hope the Bears have for a playoff spot extinguished.   

Giants over the Saints.  Put the Saints farther behind us.  Go Giants GO!!!!

Panthers over Falcons.   Not likely but here's hoping.

Commanders over the Rams.  Another not likely but Washington could be playing for their coaches job.  Wash also 5-1 ATS as underdogs on the road.

And Beagles over Seahags on Monday Night.  Might be the Back-up QB Bowl with Hurts sickness and Smith injured.

Yeah, at this point it can't be injury holding him out. Something's up and or he would have went on IR.

Imagine if you will.  36 seconds left in the 4th quarter.   The Bucs face 4th and 8 on the 50 yard line.   Joe Barry sends in the call, heavy nickle.   The Bucs motion Mike Evans from right to left slot.   The Packers #1 CB / OLB Preston Smith moves out with him to man up.  

In the post game press conference following the shocking 50 yard game winning TD an emotional Matt “Frenchy”LeFluer takes the podium.  The rabid GB media questions the defensive call.   With tears rolling down his face he whimpers “you guys are the ones who wanted man coverage, not me!!!!”

I get the frustration. I really do. But if he can’t raise his arm to tackle or PBU then I don’t want him on the field. And I kinda like his mannerisms.

Most of the time I do too. But he is kinda funny and I think that you want chatter from a DB. I just wish he could do some more of it more on the field.
