Lotsa work to do. That's a good thing

It's getting late early. They're young and adjusting to a new scheme, but the pass rush is going to be a perfect example of the weakness that gets you tossed from the playoffs. It was ugly today. Looked like everyone was chasing a splash play and they repeatedly left massive escape routes for Caleb.

I never understand why folks hate watching/listening to people they obviously can’t stand.  Go potty, go the the fridge, talk to the wife, pet the dog or simply turn the channel.

You're such a hater.

From 1999 AP

“The Chicago Bears were certain Walter Payton was watching, and they were certain he was proud. Bryan Robinson blocked Ryan Longwell's 28-yard field-goal attempt as time expired, and the Bears snapped a 10-game losing streak against the archrival Green Bay Packers with a 14-13 victory at Lambeau Field on Sunday.”

Some similarities one point loss for home team  and 10 game streaks on the line.

If that's a ref to my comments, I actually don't listen to Berman. Haven't for well over 20 years.  He used to be great, a cutting edge in sports reporting.  Then he became average, and then a mostly talented dinosaur living on past glory.  I don't watch SC except for an occasional live event. And when his face appears on the TV, I actually leave the room or turn the channel.  He provides absolutely no useful commentary other than a rather (un)funny, (unclever pun or play on words.

Side note - worked with a guy who used to be a producer and sad CB is complete and total A-hole off screen and treated just about everyone who wasn't a face on the network like shit.  Wasn't surprised.

There's a reason I tune into games 1-2 minutes before kickoff and skip half time - I just don't like listening to all the talking (yelling? Screeching?) heads give their hot takes.   Anything I need related to the game I get from other sources (especially here!).

With uzzu.tv I can flip games at halftime - there's usually a game or two that's running well ahead or behind the Packer game so I can watch those during halftime.

I'm probably just old, but those talking heads bore/annoy me, so I simply don't listen.

“We “need to save his job.  Bare Fans should be concerned with seemingly being satisfied to get close to the 30. I thought they had about 45 seconds left and a time out where they could have knocked some more yardage down.

Not sure what it was with Ryan Longwell and 28 yard attempts, but in the opener in 1997 against Philadelphia he pushed a FG wide right and Packers lost 10-9.

I was at that game.  Shitty game. Neither Facre nor McNabb played.

If they got another 15 yrds. that blocked FG might have been good!

It is clean. There's no penalty especially with the league making attacking the long snapper an  emphasis much the same as illegal formation this season.

They aren't saying we were over the center, they are saying we violated this rule:

NFL rules prevent players from making contact with the head or neck of a long snapper within one second of the snap if his head is down.

Nobody is lined up over the LS (unlike the Packers game awhile back). And both Guards block players toward the LS.

No penalty, non-story.

Still no violation. When it's slowed down, you see Brooks aim right between the LS and LG, then the LG pushes Brooks to the inside and Brooks' thigh hits the LS on the outside of his shoulder and pushes the LS into the path of Wyatt, who's engaged with the RG. At the snap of the ball, you can see Wyatt looking right at the LS to make sure he doesn't hit him, and then the LS ends up right in his path.

The LS is also way off-balance after the snap (maybe trying to get something extra on the snap as it did come back a little high?) and it looks like if Wyatt wasn't there, the LS would have fallen on his face.

The Bears should also look at their LG who shades a little left and ends up pushing Brooks to the inside rather than standing him straight up.

Their OL held Karl Brooks and Brooks still blocked it! SCREW EBERLOSE!

Packers are 29th in the league for red zone offense……Bears defense???  Are number 1 in red zone defense.

Packers scored 3 RZ TD's vs. that defense & probably should've had 1 or 2 more (INT & awful play calling)

I really think the Pack is like 2-3 plays away from blowing games wide open.

Maybe we'll see them put it all together vs. Niners? 🤷🏻

So I wasn't able to post here after going to the game on Sunday.  I say in the corner of the end zone where the kick was blocked.  I spent my day thinking to myself why in the f**k did I decide to spend my day around these obnoxious pricks?  The guy in front of us spilled beer on my wife twice and was vaping right in her face and all he would say is "Green Bay sucks"

But, all was good because when the kick was blocked, they all just stood up and walked out.   They really didn't say a word the whole time walking out.  Such a thing of beauty to see the look on their faces.
