What did Osi get from the Falcons? Two years and ~$8-9 million? That's the kind of FA signing I'm looking at.

Edit:

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the two-year contract the Falcons gave Umenyiora is worth $8.5 million with a maximum value of $12.2 million. The contract also includes $5 million in the first year, according to Rapoport.

Hawk had three good plays today.  The tipped pass (may have been his nicest play of he year that wasn't a sack), and two tackles at the LOS.  Numerous "dive into a blocker and get engulfed" plays and a couple missed tackles (one really bad arm tackle that got broken easily).

I still think the teams needs a safety more, but at this point I really believe Jarrett Bush should be on the field and not AJ on anything resembling a passing down.  "But who would set the defense?" you ask?  I don't care, Hawk is doing it now to the tune of eleventy billion points given up.

Agreed. I'm just amazed about much jumping around he does at the start of a play and gets rolled cause he is so off balance. The other thing is he looks like he has lost half a man in weight, there is no way you can bring him back in Green Bay as the MLBer.

This defense will never be consistently good again until they get that middle solved (Backers and SS). Burnett is NOT a SS, I wished fans would quit thinking that ... he is a FS in the mold of Sharper (And yes he likes to perform the ole' like Darren "interception mop up duty"  Sharper). But IMO, Burnett could be really good with a good SS sidekick.

As has been said before, the sad thing is Hawk trys. And trys. And trys.

You could never say he takes off plays and obviously his health can't be understated either. But I have just never watched someone overrun play after play then be seen tackling his guy.....10 yards down field. It's the same sh** game after game.

He's the Ed West of ILB's Somehow, someway he is a starter and no one can figure out why.
