So now what are our Draft needs? WR, TE, S, RB, OT??? Considering those on our current roster who are leaving, or may otherwise be cut or traded, I think that WR or TE may become a priority for GB, again. I doubt Gute will go for any FA, for any of these positions, I have listed here, as that doesn't seem to be what he does. Yes, he went after Sammy Watkins, but he was acquired on a cheap deal. Looking at the players in the draft at these positions, I think we can get Michael Mayer, TE out of Notre Dame with our pick at 15. He is the best TE in the draft and will be gone, if we pass him up, in the first round. It's a bit early to talk about the Draft, but GB's season is over and what else is there to do?

It's the long game. The NFL has been manipulating what a catch is since well before Dez in order to control the over/ under and game winners for legalized gambling. We complain about it but don't question it.

Yes ...that is exactly what they do when they review a play,  quickly calculate how it effects the over / under and game outcome. I think the NFL may be behind the whole  landing on the moon hoax. .

That's funny.... but if you don't think they're controlling games to keep them close so nobody turns the channel, you're definitely not paying attention.

I worked in Vegas casinos for 40 years and they have no reason to manipulate the O/U since they manage to get money bet evenly on both sides and simply collect the vig.

Once again a man sees what he wants to see. Is there any evidence that a team that is ahead gets more penalties called against them? Gets more calls over turned, etc?

Yeah, there really is.....calls go this way or that way and it's all run by NY.

A "catch". Nobody can even define what a catch is anymore. See the exact same play in 2 separate games. One is called a catch and the other is not. No consistency whatsoever.

We all have HD TV and we all can see what's going on.

The have ruined the game 100% and I don't pay attention nearly as much as I used to.

It's all about making sure the money train keeps rolling in, not about what actually happened on the field.

Wanna know when it started for me??

The fail Mary. NFL....just

The whole idea of going to the ground with control needs overhauling. Why can a defender end up on the ground while juggling the ball, bring it in while still on the ground, and it's called an interception, when for a receiver it's a drop? It should be called the same way: as long as the ball doesn't hit the ground and the WR is in-bounds, it's a catch. It would eliminate a bunch of video reviews looking for that millisecond of control before the WR hit the ground. That's the first change I would make.

There's game mechanics that can be manipulated and  I'm always curious about who chooses which crew to work which game. I'm fairly certain it isn't a blind draw. You don't even have to to tell the refs what to do, just reward opportunities to the one's who call it "the right way". You can't ever predetermine a season but you can put a little English on the outcomes.

The NFL is cadre of the most devious businessmen in the country. I have no doubt they curry favor and play angles with the league in every way imaginable including working relationships for favorable reffing assignments based on style of play.

I think what is and isn't pass interference or holding has become more egregious than the catch or no catch scenario.  It used to be fairly clear that contact beyond 5 before the ball was there was a flag. It's now seemingly  based on completely arbitrary conditions.

I'm sure the businessmen play all the angles, but let's not go too far down the conspiracy rabbit hole. In society as a whole, we used to let the refs ref and the players play (okay, a little "get off my lawn!" there), and we recognized there was a human element. Now, it's all about how the refs screwed us, the instant replay delays that prolong the game, the way commentators talk about how the ref missed this or that or shouldn't have or should have called it, there's even a "rules guy" on every broadcast. It's just gone too far. And if the conspiracy is that great, why even play the games?
