finley sux and should have his fingers bound and lips stapled ... other than that a great person.

Did I add enough?

-Drops and again time management. That end of the first half was mindboggling.

Bounce of breaks where? Texans not ready for a prime time game is not breaks. Refs didn't decide this game either way and if anything the pack got the short end of the stick as usual. There really is no debating that unless you're one who thinks ryan won the VP debate.. I'm getting a TO. lol.

Yea, I agree ... that damn media bias always coddling the GOP ...

its all good.. I'd just keep the beating the dead horse to the finley thread. Goofs on forums will trump that thought tho.
If Saine's done, Marc Tyler might get promoted. Starks looked...unimpressive tonight, granted he didn't get many opportunities, but Tyler might have a chance to move up the depth chart. If he has some ability, he'll get a chance to prove it.

If Smith's done, that's really tough for the D. Sometimes a liability against the run, he was excellent in pass coverage, and I feel like that's where he'll be missed most. He was the Dime linebacker and with Hawk's coverage deficiencies I'm not sure who will step into that role.

Smith is hurt on the same type of play that injured Cushing. Guess the Texans can quit complaining. They need to outlaw those blocks where they take the defenders knees out. Always been dirty, just need to make them illegal.

Jordy's push off on the first TD could easily be called by a different crew and changes the entire tone of the game when you're a team that has had every bad break go against you. I'd also add a team that lines up in the neutral zone and gives up a first down and a team that gets a personal foul on a fg for jumping on a guy's back. The refs don't always catch these infractions. What the refs do and don't call without a doubt has an affect on the game. The Packers had every incidental called against them for a few weeks and this week it seems we got a few back. I'm not saying it takes anything away from the win but I think it's part of the intangibles that help a team break out of a slump.

In my humble opinion, I think that push off was weak at best - insignificant -hardly!!! But I am biased.

Frenchie.. He shined in pass coverage when given a shot last year.

Agreed. There's a logjam of guys that there isn't really too much difference between but offer different positives and negatives. What you lose in one area you gain in another. The drop off between Bishop and the next tier of guys is big but once they're into the depth it's pretty much plug and play. They do a very good job at keeping competitive depth with potential. The replacements aren't going to take over a game but they should be prepared to play a decent role.

Much less noticeable than the OPI noncall at the end of the Seattle game.

Howabout JJ though. Two years ago we were ready to run him out of town for his dropsies. Now he's catching crazy balls that nobody catches.
+
A great win for the team, and one that not many expected, including myself. Overcame a good amount of adversity, both before and during the game.
Pass rush.
Rushing defense. A tremendous effort!
ARod returning to championship belt form.
Alex Green. Not too shabby for a first start.
OL. While not perfect, their combined play was good overall.
Defensive Rookies. Is there a group of picks that are playing any better than Worthy, McMillian, and Hayward, regardless of positions? I think not.
And Masthay is still Nast-hay!
Not only finally survivng a 3rd quarter meltdown, but getting a score as well!

And seeing the little things on replay that reassures me this team is just fine, thank you. I saw the desire to excel from both Jones and Jordy reflected in some of their TD catches. And the effort they give to make catches they possibly shouldn't have been able to was outstanding!

Injuries. These last 2 weeks have been brutal for us. And as bad as they all may be, the one I'm most worried about is Rodgers! Here's hoping he's just bruised from a hit, and doesn't have a muscle injury.
Punt block.
Newhouse damn near cost us a TD with his hold/whiff. It started a string of failures that came too close to starting a meltdown.

I really doubt guys like Robert Francois or Terrell Manning would be any worse, if anything they have the potential to be upgrades. DJ Smith was just a Charlie Peprah, a guy that you plug in and hope he can feed off of the talent around him. I'm 10x more concerned about Shields and Perry.

There seems to be a lot of things he can't catch. I don't think he could catch the clap from a $5 hooker.
In all likelihood, unless he's not right physically, he will turn it on eventually. I'm not a fan of Finley, and I don't really like having him on the team, but the guy will probably produce at some point this season. I just hope that if that does happen, Mike and Aaron don't ever fool themselves into believing they can rely on him in a clutch situation.
this game really reminded me of the 2010 Divisional game against Atlanta.

came in as the "underdog" but still considered the better team, in Houston against 5-0 Texans, and totally dominated them.

Seemed like all game i was saying to myself "Okay, time for a touchdown offense." and boom, touchdown. "Okay, time for a stop D." boom, 2 runs and a throw away.

Rodgers was surgical.

Arian Foster had 29 yards. 29!
Positives:

Rodgers and the rest of the skill guys were awesome last night, but this game was won in the trenches. The OL kept the MVP on his feet and created just enough room for Green to keep the Texans honest. The DL stopped the Texans' run game. That may have been the biggest shocker of the game, as the Packers' run D hasn't been good.

Agree with the comment of how much this game resembled the Atlanta playoff game.

Great game by MM. He had a good plan, he stuck with the run, and the guys were ready to play.

Negatives:

Injuries

Finley

Blocked punt
AR loves domes and his games are always better in them. That should concern me but I gotta live with some things.

It was won in the trenches but it was also won in the catches. Lots of catches made that in the last couple of weeks would have fell to the ground. All of a sudden AR is a god and the receivers are the best ever again. Smiler

nice to see Crabtree have the opportunity to make up for his whiff block on punt protection.
