He can probably get away with wearing a club at OLB until it heals. It would hamper him a bit on some rush moves, but he could play. Getting Frankie Z and Worthy back will help, and they'll have no trouble dispatching Detroit if Matthews is able to go.
An article on T.J. Lang appears in the Green Bay Press-Gazette, specifically about how he filled in for an injured Bryan Bulaga in the Cardinals game and his transition to right tackle. “For some it may be more of a transition, but after a couple plays he did well” Packers offensive line coach James Campen is quoted as saying. “I don’t think it’s a huge thing for him, so if he has to play out there first and foremost next week he’ll get a lot of reps out there. But again, we don’t know what’s up with Bryan.” Lang did a fantastic job considering the circumstances. With Evan Dietrich-Smith filling in at left guard, the Packers appear to be in good shape. But it might be scary if they were to suffer any more injuries.
Or maybe the Packers are really not liking what they're seeing from their medical staff and trainers this season. They've been screwing up repeatedly this year with their diagnosis, treatment and clearing of injured players to return to action, and it wouldn't shock me if the coaches and front office are just immediately looking for outside opinions at this point.
I wonder if had a slight or partial dislocation, but then it went back into place? As for him jogging off the field with a full dislocation, I find that hard to believe. But then again, I once saw a woman walk, slowly and carefully, to physical therapy only to see her foot flop to the outside once she sat down. Diagnosis: dislocated hip.
Not to sound like a know-it-all, but I work in surgery, was talking about Bulaga to an orthopod I assist with a lot. He thought it was possible Bulaga sub-luxed his hip (partial or incomplete dislocation) and tore the labral tissue. Mentioned Bulaga stumbling when he injured it, kinda like a not as serious Bo Jackson type issue. As far as a fully dislocated hip, no, Bulaga would not have been jogging off the field, simply not possible.
I dislocated my hip in HS running a relay. Popped out and flew for a moment in an unnatural position not forwards or backwards, but to the side (so say the spectators). The muscle immediately contracted violently and pulled the hip bone into the socket. I finished the last 20 or so feet (sounds awesome, but I was running full speed, it wasn't like you come to a complete stop), then collapsed to the ground. Couldn't walk from that point forward (I did give them 140 push ups for show). Went to the doc the next day. The problem wasn't the dislocation, that took care of itself, the problem was the muscle tore either when it popped out or pulled it back in. I had a normal gait again in about 4 weeks, but it took longer than that to run again.
Practice today...

@TyDunne
For #Packers, Greg Jennings, Neal, Matthews, Woodson, Bulaga all out. Meanwhile, Kuhn, Shields, Nelson were back.

@WesHod
Jordy Nelson, Jerel Worthy, Sam Shields back at practice. Andrew Quarles also taking part #Packers

@TyDunne
And Bryan Bulaga has been placed on injured reserve for the #Packers. Big blow. Lang likely moves over to RT. Sherrod was doing more today.
Well that sucks on Bulaga. Can't afford another injury to the Oline from here on out

good to see Worthy, Nelson, Kuhn and Shields practicing, though. If they are all back today, sounds like they are all completely healthy and ready to go. Looking forward to seeing Quarless back on the field. Neal is still out? jeez

All that's left is to get Woodson and JEnnings back, hopefully within 2-3 weeks. Benson should be able to return at the end of the year as well, right? Thought I read he had his walking boot removed recently
This one stings. Of all the injuries they’ve endured this year, I don’t think any has had quite the combination of caliber of player and lack of depth at the position. (Assuming Clay only does miss a game or two, of course.)

Lang and EDS held their own against AZ, so I’m hopeful they can keep that up. At least the Sherrod news suggests he could be available down the stretch and in playoffs.

As for Benson, he can't come back before 12/9 because of how the IR exemption works. At least it sounds like he'll be full go by then.
