I was pretty impressed that the coaches poll gave them the 2nd most first place votes.  That is very impressive to me and over the weekend the talking heads now are starting to give them their due.

I am getting nervous for Saturday's game and I will be there in person to hopefully see UW finally take down OSU.  UW is 0-3 in games I see them in person against OSU.

I actually got Wisconsin at 18/1 yesterday morning.

It also shows you who they think the 4 playoff teams will be.

Someone keep Heckler away from the game.

I am damn sick of the media talking about a 1 loss Alabama, a 1 loss OSU, a 2 loss TCU, etc.  etc.  etc.   Even if they lose to Ohio State we should still be in the discussion just as much as other 1 loss teams.  If a 1 loss Alabama can still get in the Final 4, without even playing in their conference championship game then a 1 loss Wisconsin who will play in their conference championship should also be considered.

#4 in the only poll that matters.  Clemson # 1......if that holds who ya got?

Tough one for sure.

I truly believe that Clemson would be shocked at how good UW is defensively.  They probably think they'd have their way with them, but I think UW would surprise them with how tough and quick they really are.

If our offense can move the chains on the ground and limit the stupid turnovers...and with the Badger defense playing the way they have been playing.....

Anything is possible.  It really depends on how smart Horni plays.

Ok so I have the misfortune of watching every O$U game this year because I live smack dab in O$U country.  Everyone seems to think for some reason that O$U is so invincible because that is what they are used to seeing.  But I would argue this is a very average OSU team.

For the Badgers on defense if they can slow down Dobbins and Weber and make them run the QB you can slow this offense down.  If they can keep Barrett from running free for big plays it can be done.  One other factor is that both of the OSU tackles have been in and out with injuries.

For UW on offense the play action pass is THE key.  O$U can be beaten passing the ball especially with play action.  Their secondary has been torched by the pass all year long (especially #3) and their linebackers are kind of in flux because they have been playing so poorly (and I mean poorly).  The ultimate key though is if the OL can control their DL?  it will be lights out and I will bet the farm on that.

Goalline, I know what you mean and trust me I have thought the same thing for me to stay away and not jinx things.

This is a beatable Ohio State team - as they are not fielding their usual elite secondary and the OL is not as good as it's been given turnover and injures.   That presents some opportunities for the Badgers in terms of pass rush and also play action passes downfield.

Should be a great game....the young recievers have really stepped up.  The D is the D, very, very good, and Horni has been better than a game manager. Ohio, although the feeling here is that they are a bit down is still a formidable team and Urban will have them ready.

Want more respect, now is their chance.

Im looking for a 24-21 type game. A close Badger victory.

Badgers getting zero respect from the national talking heads.

Nope they aren't not even a little bit.  I was just listening to ESPN radio and everyone on there was blathering on saying "not one person wants Wisconsin in there NO ONE!"  One guy said give us anyone but them.

Pikespeak as you said now is their chance for respect.  I know they wont say it publicly but I hope in the locker room and in practice there is a lot of "why not us?" talk.

Oh and I forgot that I promised some local commentary on this game.

Feels so much like 2014 again

I can see another 59-0 blowout our talent is just so much better

They will be pesky as usual but will be the usual UW team and cave at the end

I am sure there is a ton more but I have to turn if off.  F*** em Bucky!!

Don't let the QB scramble and run for easy 1st downs.

or pay the TV cameraman a few extra bucks to walk near Barrett in pre-game

I want Barrett healthy. This is probably the biggest game the Badgers have ever played in terms of making the leap in the national perception to being an elite football program, not just a solid mid-teens ranked type program. If they pull the "upset" and win but Barrett is clearly hobbled, the talking heads will just say they backed into the playoff because they caught a break with Barrett hurt and Wisconsin really doesn't belong (but at least we'll be able to play Clemson or Oklahoma and prove it again).

Every season I've ever watched the Badgers, they've always had 1 real stinker game that caused them to never be in a real national championship race.  Like losing to Minnesota in '93 or to Cincinnati in '99 or losing a couple of heartbreakers the Russell Wilson year.

This is the first time I've seen a season go this far without that kind of game.  Yes, some of it had to do with an easier schedule than normal, but also, I really think this might be the best overall Badgers team I have ever seen.  This defense seems like it is special and maybe the best Badgers defense in their history.  Special teams seem to be very solid.  The running game is excellent with possibly the most talented RB in their storied RB history playing.  The passing game is not great, but I would still call it sneaky good as Chryst is brilliant at scheming guys open.   Hornibrook played fantastic last week and that is a good sign going into the Championship game/Bowl games.

While I can understand why the Badgers wouldn't be favored against some of these other teams, I think that defense will keep them in it against anyone.  I also think their coaching staff may be as good as any staff in the nation.  I think they are going to be a tough out for any team that faces them, OSU, Clemson, Bama, Oklahoma, etc. the Badgers can hang with any of those teams.  They just need to be better on the particular day they play them.

A few things: Horni can't have a few INTs to get them "out of his system" in this game. Play sharp and smart like he did in MN. Taylor is still a freshman and has put the ball on the ground a few times. Hopefully this game won't be too big for him. We really need a healthy Dixon for Saturday.

If the Badgers win, all the talk will be how OSU lost to Iowa by 31, so they were never that good anyway.

Wisconsin still won't "belong" in many peoples mind.

You know what I totally agree with your thought.  If there is one thing I really don't like about college football is that unless you are a "blue blood" program you will never believed to be strong enough to contend.   Which is why even if I wasn't a huge UW fan I would be rooting for them to win just to give all of them the finger.

Clemson lost to a Syracuse team that gave up 162 points in its last 3 games to Wake Forest, Louisville, and Boston College. They have one great win against Auburn, but other than that did not beat a team that is in the top 25.

The Badgers have won every game they've played by at least 8 points and, in retrospect, the only weak game all year was the 17-9 win over Purdue. Northwestern was a 9 point win that they are the 20th ranked team in the country. The media is speculating on where Lane Kiffin is going next after doing such a great job at Florida Atlantic. While they are not in the top 25, they ended up 9-3.

The Badgers have one weakness this year. Their QB can hold them back, but Horni played great last week. This game comes down to 2 things.

1. Can Ohio State stop the Badgers running game by playing 7 guys in the box? If they can, the Badgers won't score enough points to win. If they commit 8 guys in the box, then Horni has to play well enough to take advantage of that. Minnesota played 8-9 guys in the box to stop the run and they paid for it in the passing game.

2. Can Wisconsin pressure Barrett so that he can't just set up camp in pocket or take off and run for big yardage? Get him moving without letting him scramble for big yardage will be key.  There is no Zeke Elliott in the backfield this game like there was in 2014. Elliott had 20 carries for 220 yards in that game. Ask Dak Prescott what it's like to play QB with without Elliott.

I wondered what kind of win looks better, a close win or a blowout?

I don't really care, just win
