Itβs going to be an ass kicking... this Badgers defense is a different animal than what the Suckeyes have seen in the past.
And an awful lot of folks are doubting this team. Lots of βtheyβre a product of their scheduleβ talk, and βnot as talentedβ. They ought play that sh*t in the meeting rooms on a loop...

I know in public they are saying all of the right things and Chyst especially isn't saying anything. But, I would bet good money on the fact there is plenty of bulletin board motivation going on this week. I am not saying the Badgers are going to win but they are sure are due for a win in a spot like this.
Heard on sports radio that according to some projection:
If Wisconsin wins they have a 53% chance of making the playoff...Undefeated BIG TEN Champ.....53%????? WTF
And if Wisconsin loses they have a 2% chance of making the playoff even though all of the other top teams will each also have at least one loss.
EDIT: I may have misheard...can't find supporting evidence.
For this to happen, WIS win and not make the playoff, a team like Georgia or Miami need to win to jump over them, but then either Clemson or Auburn would have 2 / 3 losses respectively.
That thinking is beyond WTF, that sounds like fake news.
There was talk about if WIS wins but looks bad against an OSU team with a gimpy Barret or backup QB.......that the committee might just say "you know what WIS isn't that good and Alabama is a better team."
EDIT: I just looked at 538.com and they have WIS with a win at 99% in and with a loss at 2%. So I am not sure where the 53% comes from. Still trying to figure it out.
Other than reputation, WIS and ALA are essentially the same team. Unspectacular QB play, top running game, top defense. The difference this year is Wisconsin has the defensive speed that Alabama typically has.
Has this been posted yet??? RB Bradrick Shaw, TE Zander Neuville out for rest of season before Wisconsin faces Ohio State......bleacher report.
It wouldn't shock me even one bit if UW loses by one point to OSU and look really good doing it they still would stand absolutely no chance to make the playoffs. I think the committee would drop them 4-5 spots if that happens.
Even if I wasn't a die hard UW fan I would be rooting for the Badgers to win just to give the entire college football world and the media the collective middle finger.

Me too......I have been yelling at the TV talking heads all week. Yah, Wisconsin is undefeated but.....blah, blah, blah. Middle finger indeed.

Good post. True.
If I hear one more announcer repeat the "They're happy with what they do" line about Wisconsin, I think I'm going to go postal.
Tim Tebow thinks we should stop saying this is the best 4 teams because Bama would run them out of town head up... so thereβs that.

That's a good comparison. I actually think Hornibrook has as much upside as a PASSER as Jalen Hurts. Hornibrook is capable of playing very well and making some tough throws into tight windows, he just makes too many poor decisions at this point in his career. Hurts is a great running back who also happens to play QB at an adequate level. Hurts has a very extended release and lacks accuracy, but he has generally avoided making mistakes.

Wisconsin might not score on the Alabama defense, but I think Alabama would have trouble scoring on the Wisconsin defense. It would be a 13-10 type game.
I saw this on Twitter...
And I want to get this straight in my head... Bama has 44 active nfl players on rosters opening day 2017, the Badgers have 32. But by the below graphic Bama has 10 times the 4/5 star players on their current roster.
So quick question... WTF DO THESE RATINGS MEAN???? 4 Star, 5 Star... if the two schools have basically comparable representation at the pro level, three things are possicle (perhaps more than one):
1) the ratings mean absolute dick
2) Alabama sucks at developing talent
3) Wisconsin is excellent at developing talent

Means coaching matters.

I saw that and of course he says stupid things like that since he is a an $EC homer.
So by Tebow's logic we should just have a pool of say 8 teams and rotate them in and out of the playoffs because they are the "best teams".
Which is my biggest gripe about college football sometimes it doesn't matter what you are doing now but if you don't have the blue blood name you shouldn't be allowed to play on the big stage with the big names.
Gotta LOVE the underdog role I really do! F### em Bucky!
Players can get by on talent alone at the college level, whereas in the NFL you need dedication, a strong work ethic, and talent. Wis picks recruits that can develop the latter and bama goes for and gets the 4-5 stars high school player. one example is Eddy Lacy.
The obsession with the star recruiting system has always puzzled me. I think it's probably better at measuring RBs, WRs, and DBs, but weak at measuring how well OL and DL will project. If a guy runs a 4.3, you know that will translate up. If a guy is 6'5 and 280 pounds in high school, he's used to just overwhelming people with his size. When he gets to the point where everyone is close to his size, it's hard to know how he'll adjust. Wisconsin has produced more good NFL offensive linemen than any school in the country the last two decades.
The Badgers have had two 5-star recruits since 2002. Neither played in the NFL because of severe knee injuries.
According to RIVALS.com
Jonathan Casillas - 2 star high school recruit. 9 year NFL vet.
DeAndre Levy - 3 star. NFL Pro Bowl LB.
O'Brien Schofield - 3 star. 6 year NFL vet.
JJ Watt - 2 star high school recruit. NFL Hall of Famer.
Kevin Zeitler - 3 star. Highest paid OG in the NFL.
Travis Frederick - 3 star. NFL All-Pro center
Chris Borland - 3 star.
James White - 3 star. NFL record 14 catches in the last Super Bowl.
Rob Havenstein - 3 star. Starting OL in the NFL
Derek Watt - 3 star. NFL FB
TJ Watt - 3 star.1st round pick
Ryan Ramcyzk- no stars - NFL 1st round pick
Garrett Dooley - 3 star
Derek Tindall - 2 star
TJ Edwards - 3 star
Chris Orr - 2 star
Badgers 5 star recruits (Joe Thomas was a 4 star recruit)
Justin Ostrowski - 2003 (knee injury)
Josh Oglesby - 2006 (6 knee surgeries in college)
Pretty sure Owen Daniels was a 5 star guy?
I think the star ranking depend on where you go. Had Jamar Fletcher or Chris Borland or Lee Evans gone to Notre Dame they would have had higher rankings for sure.
As for Tebow, he's an idiot. It's not like Alabama has played a great schedule so I don't understand how he can assume they would destroy UW hence they should be in the playoff instead of Wisconsin. Personally, I'm not sure if Alabama would beat Penn State or Ohio State this year either.
Are stars given after the players signs with a college team

Doesn't matter, Tim. Bama lost and it was their last game (that matters too).
There is a correlation between team recruiting you and stars. Always has been.
The reason I brought it up was to demonstrate why these programs are considered βbetterβ than others while never having played each other. The so-called βeye testβ.
But thatβs not football. It never has been. LSU was a sexy pick last year to win it all with a superstar running back and all American stacked defense, and they paid a football price when they got rocked by an unranked Badger team with a Big giant hole at QB and WR, and a completely new OL.
This is the same team now with better play at QB and RB, more seasoned OL, and emerging WRs. And donβt look now, but that offense is getting better. Bama would steamroll them now? Ha! Thatβs what 5th ranked LSU thought last year, too.
This is what I know- the Badgers play this role of discounted and unfit underdog well. They were a 12 point underdog against a 10-2 BCS 12th ranked Nebraska squad in the 2012 B1G Championship game... we all know how that one turned out.
This Badgers team has not flinched and I would be very surprised if they don't play well including a win. Ohio State certainly presents some challenges with their speed and athleticism but this is a different UW team. They now have some athletes on both sides of the ball that can matchup against the elite programs.
An interesting side note is I wonder if the reason people like Booger and Tebow are bashing the Badgers is due to Fox featuring more Big Ten games including the BT Championship game? We all know ESPN is tilted toward the $EC so that might have something to do with it.
All I know is I doubt Alabama would steamroll the Badgers. Quite frankly, I'm not sure Alabama is that great of a team. They definitely aren't as good as they have been but much like Ohio State this year their reputation will take them a long way.
Everything is there for the Badgers to make that next step. If they can get past the Bucks there's not one playoff team that scares the crap out of me because the games will be played on neutral sites - not Auburn or Clemson which would certainly be difficult.

Owen Daniels was recruited as a QB.
