Hopefully they'll land this guy for next year, he really ruvs Americans. He fits the mold of all these past SB performers, lots of glam, lots of fire & smoke, lots of no talent.

Whover it ends up being in 2014, keep a couple of these ready.

She was sleazy good. All that was missing was the brass pole.

Ya, she was pretty hot, Packdog.

If she was wearing any clothing at all, not interested.

I thought U2 was the best, though Bono's voice was off. I don't remember if he was sick, or if it was just a long tour taking it's toll on his vocal chords (Armored NO Saint and I had seen them at the start of the Elevation Tour at The American Airline Center in Dallas, and that had to be about ten month earlier). "Where the Streets Have No Name" is one of my all-time favorite songs, and that moment with the names of the 9/11 victims streaming up to the heavens was just incredible. I watch it from time to time on Youtube, and it still sends chills down my spine.

Prince was great though, probably my second favorite show. The guy is a phenomenal talent/live performer. Damned fine guitarist, too. When I started studying the instrument, and found out that was him playing the solo to "Let's Go Crazy", I couldn't believe how good he was. He ripped just like Ernie Isley or Jimi Hendrix. He has some good solos on the Gold Experience, too.

Be nice if they could skip all the BS and just play football.

I would honestly watch a bunch of kids playing pee wee football than whatever halftime show they put on at the SB.

All you folks harbaughing about the halftime show? Well, none of you geezers are in the prefered demographics anyway, so nobody really cares what you old-school wankers want.

Every NFL team should have a marching band and or drum and bugle corp that could perform at halftime of all of the games including the Superbowl.

Blasphemy!!! The BEP's played in Dallas when Green Bay beat Pitt. Top 10 band of all time in my book... alright, top 145.

That said. Fleetwood Mac would kick ass @ halftime closing with this... bonus is a serious marching band:

the half time show at the SB is why it is best to DVR or tape it and then use the Fast Forward button during half time!!! Much more enjoyable. I DVR'd and only watched about 2 minutes at half time and 2 minutes at the end of the game. That was really the ONLY way to watch that game!!!

There may not be a big name performer at halftime next year cuz it's in New York, err Jersey. Something about setting up and taking down a stage in cold and possibly bad weather is too much. Bring on the battle of the marching bands!

While I would love to have Knopfler play the half time show, you and I may be the only ones. Someone more realistic I would like to see would be Neil Young.

I heard on NYC sports radio that there's talk about having next years halftime show in Times Square

With Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and Bon Jovi.

Enough of the 70s-80s geriatric artists.

It was trendy for a time in the early 2000's for pop music to use marching band or drum corps type accompanyment. Holla back girl, crazy in love (though more 70s big brass), the love spit love cover at the opening of Angus got more exposure. Stefani did hollaback girl on snl back then and she had a marching band accompany her there. kicked a$$! "Brass bands" started popping up all over in nyc that fused jazz bands with marching band elements. I really liked the eternal buzz brass band - they could really burn the place down.
