When I was a kid, I used to dream/fantasize about owning a Lamborghini. A couple years ago I had the option to get one. Instead, I bought a more environmentally friendly vehicle.

Now, the new dream/fantasy is.....

I want Mark Murphy's job. Serious as a heart attack boys & girls.

Now I just need to figure out how I can make that happen.

Thank you all for your thoughts (I didn't mean to hijack this thread.) My son, with whom I attended Packer games, has stage 3 colon cancer (he's only 39). He's doctoring with UW-Mad Carbone Cancer Center and is in good hands. Prognosis is good - he's in the middle of his chemo. Next is radiation and then surgery. Mr. QO now has two cardiac stents (two arteries 95% blocked - one the widow maker, rec'd just in the nick of time) and a urinary stent. You can imagine what all went on there...same time as son's diagnosis. It helps that a lot of people have been praying for us.

If you are having symptoms and think you're too young to have colon cancer, think again! And don't let the doctor brush it off either! Son's oncologist had the same kind of cancer when he was only 30.

And if you're having chest pains when all you're doing is feeding the cats, dog and horse and you don't go to the doctor, I will quote our friend when he talked to Mr. QO in the hospital: "You dumb ass."

Mother in law has been working with Carbone for a decade now. What they have done for her seems more like science fiction to me. They are at the cutting edge of the medicine. She probably would have died 7 years ago without them. Your son is in great hands, QO.

I have the same 2 cardiac stents. Thought I was getting the flu as flu season was in high gear. Interesting procedure. Awake thru the whole thing. I had to pee right in the middle of it. The doc, nurses and my self got a good laugh out of it.

And here I am all pissy because my new DJ software won't analyze tracks fast enough.

The son and his wife came to see us today since we've all had our COVID shots. He looks great! This is his "4 day window" where he feels human. (He has one 27-hour chemo session every two weeks.) It did my heart good to see him like this. We've done Zoom but it helped a lot more to see him in person. He wanted my homemade pizza.

That's a load to carry, QO. Glad the prognosis is good for your son, and you're up and at 'em as well. Continued good luck!

Good luck, Quiet One. That stuff is scary, especially to one of your kids. I have the 2 stents as well and had a widow-maker heart attack in 2017. 95% closed artery, 70% closed on another. Very scary and I was told I was lucky to survive it. Life hasn’t been the same since that heart attack and 2 scary pulmonary embolisms, and physically I feel like a shadow of the man I was. But I thank God every day that I am alive and can enjoy being a grandpa! And that I’m a Packers fan! Best of luck to you guys!!!

I have Parathyroid surgery in a month. You never know what's around the corner.

I found out just last week that one of my and BearNDesert’s friends has stage 4 colon cancer. The diagnosis just came out of nowhere, and has hit me pretty hard.

I pray that these doctors can make a positive impact for your family, Quiet One, that your son goes into remission, and lives a long, healthy life. I’ve seen too much of modern medicine up close the last ten years, or so, and the things doctors can do now literally amazes me. Medical technology has taken a giant step forward in just the past decade.

Colon cancer is no joke, guys. Please make sure that you’re getting a colonoscopy as indicated by your doctors.

Just had my first colonoscopy a month or so ago. All clear... the process isn’t nearly as bad as some make it out to be.

Best part is you gotta pass gas before they let you go. So if you're the last patient of the day you get to hold it in and make all those nurses wait hoping you will fart. Good Times!!
