FTFY
Let's look at the Hillbilly Messiah's quote, shall we?

quote:
In an e-mail response to ESPN's Ed Werder, Favre said Monday that the Packers are "by far" the best team left in the NFL playoffs.

By far? Look, we all love the Pack, but "By far"? This statement is made for one reason, and one reason only. Should the Packers lose, this allows him to blame Rodgers for the loss. More proof coming up soon.

quote:
[Packers QB] Aaron [Rodgers] is the best QB and the receiving corps is the best ever, maybe

Best QB. Nice comment Brett, that's very nice of you. Oh look though. The best WR corp EVER.

Oh, so, of COURSE Rodgers is playing well. He has the best WR corp. EVER.

And, let's be clear - it's FAR better than the stumblebums that he was saddled with and won with and set records with. Don't you forget that media - Brett Favre could take any WR and make them look good. Rodgers has the best WR corp ever, even a monkey could throw for 20 TDs!

quote:
Favre said in the e-mail. "But [defensive coordinator] Dom [Capers] and the defense gets the MVP award at this stage.

Oh, and look, Rodgers gets the benefit of Dom Capers and a great defense! Brett never had that! Favre never had an MVP like defense. Especially in 1996. Rodgers is the beneficiary of the best WR corp EVER and an MVP defense.

Anyone taking these statements at face value or some attempt to rebuild a bridge are delusional. This is yet another complaint - Brett never had the WRs and never had the defense that Rodgers has.

He's sucking some of you back in already...
He'll eventually come to Green Bay in an attempt to amend the differences and put the problems behind. His legacy is meaningless without us, since the Jets' fans despise him and Vikings' fans only accepted him as a hired gun, but both are very unlikely to invite or honor him in the future.
The biggest turnover machine in the history of the league is retiring, big whoop. The only people who are sad are the favre apologists and the defensive backs in the NFL. Every defensive back will have to watch his INT stat go down next year that the human turnover is gone.

Favre can now look forward to mowing his lawn all day and hunting for frogs for the dinner table.

Man, you make some Great Points!
Hating him is Fun and Easy. Smiler
As much as I like a challenge, I don't think I could come up with a reason to Not hate him, if there was a gun to my head.
MAN, I hate him.

I am sure Rodgers internally is taking this as a dig against him.

I hope it riles him up and gets him to match his game against ATL.

Listening to Homer on ESPN Milwaukee, he has the same opinion as you did CAPF95.
I will follow him..., makes me laugh every time I hear him play it.

Boris - Did you catch the caller earlier who said he dreamt that Favre would deliver the pregame speech to the Packers on Sunday? So stupid… Roll Eyes
Was listening to KFAN on the way home and only caught a chunk, but I swear they were talking about some physical therapist from the queens that is complaining about some texting thing with Brett.

No links or anything yet, but keep an ear out for Lord Byron's return!

Green Bay Packer organization sentiment towards Brett Favre is exhibited from the following text extracted from the Wikipedia website:

"After Brett Favre stated his intent to retire in May 2008, the Packers announced that his #4 would be retired in a ceremony during the team's 2008 opening game against the Minnesota Vikings. The ceremony was cancelled following Favre's subsequent decision to return to the game, and he was traded to the New York Jets. In March 2009, the Packers indicated that the team still intends to retire Favre's number, but due to the circumstances surrounding his departure from the team, no timeline had been set."

I would expect loyal Packer fans to follow the same attitude represented by the football organization we support.
Bbbbut, he's a changed man!

From the Deadspin article (NSFW):

quote:
He's a changed man, a source says. He is fully committed to moving on from his NFL life and being a good family man. His text messages to friends and former teammates alike, we're told, now contain Bible verse.

NOT!

Do you have a pamphlet or a newsletter that fully explains the rules that loyal Packer fans must follow?

Oh brother. Don't tell me he's going to morph into an insufferable pious a-hole.

That says enough for me.

I doubt he gives a flying flip about the people he played with. He played with James Campen for several years and threw him under the bus on national tv to further his agenda.
Yeah, considering he told Peppers to go beat the Packers in Week 17 shows he's still a putz. Just disappear for 5 years. Don't make any commercials for Flex-All or Wrangler or Sears. Just hide.

That about sums it up for me right now too. Maybe if he lives another 40 years there will be a generation of Packer Fans who will believe the Packer hype about him and not remember how he left, and then his number can be retired - maybe.
Favre's recent career has been filled with Bible references. Certainly Exodus figured prominantly, and recently there has been Revelation after Revelation. And don't forget the Letters to the Corinthians, or whatever that massage therapist's name was. Then there was the picture of his Deuteronomy. Of course now he is sticking primarily to Lamentations.

Bert Favor can go f?ck himself by shoving a Bible up his arse...

Was I too harsh?

not at all, not at all. if it's true he's going biblical it's only a ploy just like everything else.
