If you can't get excited watching Mitchell,  Perkins, Frelick, and Turang then you don't like baseball.   These guys appear to be up and coming stars.  Add in seeing a hopefully healthy Yelich motoring around the bases is exciting too.

Planning on the return of Gasser and possibly Jacob Misiorowski, the guy voted to have the best fastball and curveball in the minors  making the roster is also a reason to watch.

Fair enough.

Thought this was interesting.

MLB fired the best umpire in baseball this week (at least based on balls/strikes calls) for having a betting account that he shared with a friend where the friend bet on baseball. The article goes into a lot of detail, but Hoberg would place bets on other sports through this account where the device enabling this to happen had to be in Iowa. It's not a good look, obviously, but they cleared him of any role in affecting outcomes.

So, the umpire gets fired for this (which is probably the right move) but Shohei Ohtani can end up with his friend doing much worse with money in Ohtani's accounts and it's like nothing happened?

From Brewers.com

PHOENIX -- With back surgery in the rearview mirror, Brewers star Christian Yelich left no question about his outlook as he reported for the start of his eighth season with the team.

β€œI don't see any reason why I won't be ready for Opening Day,” Yelich said Saturday at American Family Fields of Phoenix in the first interview about his health since the end of last season. β€œI saw before I came out here that I might be a question mark for Opening Day, and I'm not sure where that came from. Unless something crazy happens here, I don't see why I wouldn't be ready.”
