I blame BK.
Get in line behind Mrs.Kiel.

OOPS, My bad, was thinking of a different game. thanks for the correction.
@Blair Kiel posted:Pirates mounting a comeback. π
Like the Brewers on Thursday night, the Pirates comeback fell just short.
Last night, the Milwaukee Brewers became the 3rd team SINCE 1901 to hit 5+ 2B, 5+ HR, win by 17+ R, & have 2 K or less. They other two:

A very specific set of stats, but interesting. Quite the thrashing.
Brewers behind 4-2, but Yelich really starting to look good. Goes deep in today's game.
30 for 90. 2-1-3. 14 walks/HBP. 2 for 5. 22 runs. 5 CBs
Since June 7th (roughly when he was moved to the leadoff spot), he's 32 for 95 with 13 walks and 1 HBP. He also has 5 SBs without being caught stealing and scored 21 runs. His power is still down (2 doubles, a triple, and 3 HRs), but he's been a very valuable offensive player for the last 24 games. That's a good sample size.
If he played 144 games at this pace (roughly a full season with a rest every couple of weeks), we'd be looking at 18 HRs, 54 RBIs and 126 run scored from the leadoff spot. He'd have 30 SBs to go along with a 422 OBP, 473 OBP, and an 898 OPS. Not 2018/19 Yelich, but more like 2018 Lorenzo Cain. I'll take it.
Brewers non-Hader/Burnes/Woodruff/Boxberger/Williams struggling.
Now down 7-2.
And they get thrashed today
I know they have injuries, but you cannot lose 2 of the last 3 to Pittsburgh.
Maybe if there was a Pirates this wouldn't have happened
Maybe next series will be its own thread. Nervous 9th with bases loaded to end it today.
But a win is a win!
Hader has a flair for the dramatic lately. But a save is still a save. He just wants Counsell to have a few more gray hairs.
Cards lose 4-0 to Phillies so Brewer lead is back to 2 games. Cards can't play at .500 on the road. That will cost them the NL Central.
