I shouldn't be so negative - fair enough
This team is just so damn frustrating. Braun, Segura, and Gomez are playing unbelievable yet they are last place. Aoki and Ramirez are playing pretty wrll also. Tough to figure out until you realize they have several other guys hitting around .200 and their team ERA is in the crapper.
The way this season has gone who knows? Maybe the lightbulb goes on but we've seen nearly 1/4 of the season and at some point you have to recognize maybe they are who they are (ie mediocre at best).
They are going to be swimming upstream because on paper STL and Cincy are just flat out better.
Hate to say this upcoming series with the Cards could make or break their season but if they get swept it very well might be over.

Seasons are never over before Memorial Day. Also, look around the majors and check out some records:
LAD 17-22
LAA 15-26
TOR 17-24
Nobody is saying they are happy with their play so far but they are just a modest winning stretch of being back to respectable.

Thats what happens when you believe you can just throw a guy on 1stbase at the major league level and do not use a real first baseman. Betancourt isn't any better ...
Yep, so much about the theory that shortstops have soft hands and therefore can be put just about anywhere.
With Yuni coming (crashing) back to earth the Brewers offense has become pretty anemic.
Lucro batting .220
Yuni batting .239
Weeks batting .181
Gonzales batting .185
Braun stuck on 8 HR's
Couple that with ARam being out as long as he was and Hart out for an extended period....PLUS our entire pitching staff (Other than maybe Loshe) has sucked like sucked never sucked before.
I'm wondering if Mark A is trying to turn a little profit for his partners this year instead of going all in to win. Of course I am probably over analyzing, but these guys are horrible....other than that 9 game winning streak, this team has not provided much excitement to this point in the season.

tell me more about this theory....
It's been public knowledge that payroll was higher the past 2-3 years then they would have liked. They made no secret of the fact they were cutting payroll to some degree this season.
Bottom line, an underperforming team affects single game tix, group tix, single game suite sales as well as corporate deals. All of those variables determine the owner's bottom line. Doubt attanasio is making anything with a poorly performing team.
I believe poorly performing teams can be profitable as well and Mark is a very good businessman.
I think Mark wants to make his money with a winning team, but I pretty sure this losing streak isn't taking any food off the table.

In a big market sure. Not in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, k.c., etc.
Although I'm not sure where to find a link to prove this but I'm pretty sure the team has made money pretty much every year he has owned the team. The one year may have been when he pushed payroll to the extreme (either 2011 or 2012).
Just look at attendance since 2005 when he bought the team. Not all those years have been winning seasons.
The guy knows how to run an organization and we as fans are lucky to have him.

Didn't mean to say I wasn't happy with Mark A as the owner. Ibelieve he's a God-Send for this organization. After pushing pay roll pretty high the last few years you just wonder whats going on in the front office. Just speculation at best.
All you really have to look at was the plan for this season...and yes we went out and got Loshe, but this team went into the season with a very young and inexperienced pitching staff and "hoped" these kids would perform at the same level they did towards the end of last season....thats just not happening.
At this point its not hard to see that the Brewers will peobably be big time sellers at the trade deadline....that is if there is anyone to sell. I believe Loshe, (yes, he's had a bad few outings) will be gone at the deadline, and quite possibly ARam. If Hart was not injured and having any kind statistical year I would believe he'd be gone as well....and who know's, he just might be. I'd also count Aoki in on that list. The only untouchables right now IMO are Braun, Segura and possibly Lucroy.....but thats just me speculating.....

It feels like hey should have dropped 5 runs on Wandy so far
Corey Hart healthy wouldn't make a big difference because he doesn't pitch. That's the bottom line. This team doesn't have good pitching.
Adding insult to injury their best pitcher (Gallardo) looks horrible. His velocity is down and he can't throw strikes.
