I prefer to look at this positively- heβs playing if it meant anything. Theyβre 3-2 on this road trip, and can go 4-2... theyβre playing with house money now.
But hereβs what is positive to me- Giannis is not the primary option down the stretch- and heβs not the guy they need to run plays for in crunch time. Itβs just the way of things, and anything Giannis does in the stretch of a game is a bonus. They need Holiday and Middleton to own this portion of the game. To have a clear understanding of who is where and how, in case Giannis ISNβT in the game. The chemistry between them is key- and that clearly needs work. I donβt mind those two guys getting extra minutes. Both guys need to know how to elevate their games in key moments.
Plus they need to really understand if a few guys are able to get playoff minutes- most importantly Thanasis and Teague. These guys could deliver key plays late, if pressed into service for whatever reason. They need time in those spots to know- this is the best time for it.
I get the impression the Bucks are OK with the 3 seed. So long as they donβt play Brooklyn/Philly first round....
They wonβt like the 3 seed if itβs Miami sitting there at 6.
Tbey need to keep winning. I agree on the whole chemistry thing but drawing the Heat in R1 would be the worst case scenario. Let Philly or Brooklyn have to play them right away.
I would... would like to exercise those demons.
Middleton looks bad tonight...
Itβs going to be 154-152 at this pace...
Basket has a lid tonight...
Why does Bryn Forbes always look bored?
Second unit playing better than the first...

Holiday and Middleton have had to play heavy minutes and have heavier than normal usage on the offensive end on this road trip with Giannis out for so many games. He could use a night off.
Middleton is a slow starter though... he usually warms up as the game goes...
The Bucks really struggling to rebound without Giannis. Cost them the game against the Warriors...
Too many offensively challenged players on the floor at the same time. Not a lot of basketball IQ.

It was a waste of time to have him on this trip for the last week. Send him back to Milwaukee and get the knee looked at and get him some PT. If he plays on this road trip, it's a 5-1 trip and Holiday and Middleton probably play 3-4 minutes less per game.
Lopez stroking it tonight...
Donβt like the shot selection tonight. When they work the ball they get good looks. When they get impatient, they blow it.
Victor Oladipo hurt his knee on an uncontested dunk tonight.
Holiday and Middleton both playing tired... they need energy out there.

Wow... dude is made of glass...

He turned down 2 years and 45 million guaranteed from Houston a couple of months ago
Between Middleton and Holiday, too many turnovers or not smart basketball plays...
Than-nasty!!! Draws the charge!
HUGE 8-0 run... and Luka gets a T.
Thanasis is in Doncic's head.
PJ Tucker mentoring Thanasis... interesting.
12-0 run all by just bringing the energy! Thanasis in Doncicβs ear, talking shit... I love it!!!
Portis and DiVincenzo bringing it tonight!
Thatβs horseshit- Thanasis can stand there- whatβs he supposed to do?
This has been a lot of fun to watch... the bench trying to steal this one. Middleton is useless, Holiday useless... Portis and Divincenzo are doing their best Malone/Stockton while Thanasis just trying to piss everyone off... I love it.
Get this win... itβll be one of the best all season!
FFS, you can't leave Porzingus at the 3 point line. Just stupid defensive execution.
Just like that- down 2. Middleton misses again... Portis misses... They go 2 man iso with Porzingas and Doncic and they get 2 open 3s. Not sure why Teague is guarding Doncic... but Portis cannot be the help man unless the rotation is right there. It wasnβt... 6-0 run.
Middleton is 2 for 2 from 3, and 2 for 20 inside the arc
How fucking bad is that? Trips over his own feet and gets a foul? This better be overturned...
OMG... thatβs unreal.
How could they not overturn that Porzingis call? He tripped over his own feet in plain view of everyone. WTF?

It basically ended the game. The Bucks just had the air go out of them.
Well, itβs all going their way now.
Giannis sitting out costs them two games.
Bucks will get screwed on this review too. Clearly not a foul, but Lopez had a layup on the rebound.
Bud needs to pick up a t at the end here just to stick up for his guys. This is ridiculous
