So we are only a few days left until the start of the college football season and we have UW vs. the all might Tide this Saturday. So what are your thoughts on this one? Does Bucky even stand a chance and should they just stay in Madison to save everyone watching it? Danny Kannel said today he doesn't think there is any chance UW even scores a point on the mighty Bama D.

Can Stave lead a receiver?
Does Bama have a QB?
This game could see more defensive TD's than offensive.
Hoping for the best.
Expecting the worst.
Be competitive and learn you can play toe-to-toe with the big boys---if they can do that, B1G West is a cake-walk and then and all we need to do is upset Ohio's State Skool.
Easy.
If not for the health of the offensive line, I think that Bucky would have a very legitimate shot of the upset. If they are unable to run the ball against Bama's D, it could make for a long night. However, I do think that Alabama will struggle to move it against Wisconsin's D, which should be better than last year. Overall, I think it will be a low scoring game, potentially decided by turnovers. However, I have to admit that I pretty much agree with Blair that I'm hoping for the best and expecting the worst.
Joel Stave versus a Nick Saban coached college defense with multiple pre-season All-Americans and future first round draft choices? When Saban has months to prepare?
The point spread at 10 seems too low. I don't think we'll see a repeat of the last game we saw the Badgers D (the embarrassment against OSU), but with a somewhat rebuilding OL, I don't think the offense will do much of anything.
OSU-type game defense shows up, they won't cover. Auburn-type game defense, cover with a chance at a win.
Stave at least a little better?
Needs to be more than a little better.
I believe the quality of coaching Stave is receiving is significantly better than he did under GA.
Also, no one is trying to make McEvoy a QB.
Believe it when I see it and I hope I do.
@Gil_Brandt: They're having trouble selling tix to the #ALAvsWIS game on Saturday. Only around 40k sold as of yesterday. Very few bought by Badger fans.
**** em Bucky
Jerruh is gonna eat it on this one

So there aren't a lot of takers to travel to Dallas on Labor Day weekend (where temperatures may exceed 100 degrees) to watch the Badgers likely get blown out? Generally people try to avoid Texas weather in the summer.
Temps in Wisconsin with the heat index may exceed 95 degrees. It's hot all over.
Last year's rollercoaster ride of a season has me as confused about an upcoming Bucky season as ever.
I do suspect a much better and consistent Stave under Chryst but the mobility is something that never was there. All the reports this 'preseason' have him looking pretty solid. And then there is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZ1qt3e-pL8
If the defense lives up to it's hype, I gotta think it will be close the majority of the tilt.
I will say fat kicker wins it at the end, 16-13 Bucky!
AT&T Stadium has a retractable roof and I expect it will be open unless there are storms in the area.
I want to believe that Bucky can pull this off, but like others, I am sort of expecting the worst. That Big Ten championship still gives me nightmares. At least Barry got them a bowl win.
I think Chryst will do very well here, especially if he goes back to the Badger's patented ground and pound offense. Let everyone else run the spread option--keep doing what you've been doing and be the team others have to spend more time to prepare for. Very glad we kept Aranda too--I like what he's done with the defense. I think they will have a fine season, but the 'Bama game might be a bit of a downer.
I think the Badger defense keeps this one within the 10 point spread,
and Stave has played excellent in camp, if he can hit a few downfield
might be just enough to take home Alabama's lunch money.
go Badgers
Made a bet today with a co-worker. He gave me the Badgers and 30 points for $5. Am I safe or out the money?
Going to be watching but away from the computer . I have the same pensive thoughts as others above. All you can say is...
F'EM BUCKY!!!
Here goes nothin'
Just want Bucky to look like they belong.....did I ever tell you that I changed Paul Chryst's diapers??? Yup....I babysat for Paul and Geep Chryst, offensive coordinator for the 49ers. We lived 4 houses away from the Chryst family In Madison. Go Badgers go.
No Goldie, beat Bama.
When I turned on the TV to tune into the game, the ASU/Texas A&M game was on and the very first thing I see is the ASU coach bitching out Shawn Slocum for allowing a punt return TD. Great stuff.
Dude lines up on the wrong side of LOS. Jesus...
Caputo probably shouldn't even be on the sideline.
College football is a corrupt game. No way the refs allow Wisconsin to compete.
Stave straight slingin
What a catch
Who is that #2?
Caputo probably shouldn't even be on the sideline.
Man that is scary stuff. Standing there like everything is cool.

Not that I disagree GL, but what made you post that? Was it the roughing penalty after the sack?
I missed what happened to Caputo what's up?
Bucky making a game of it so far, but inexcusable to give up a 24 yard screen pass. Bama just has more talented players.
On another note, can the Packers hire the Badgers' special teams coach?
Caputo got hit in the head with a knee I think. After the play he lined up on the wrong side of the LOS. He was just standing there behind the bama players waiting for the snap. They took him out before the play started.
Cuqui, Caputo got his bell rung on a tackle. So hard there was a cut on his cheek inside his helmet and visor. He actually walked to the wrong huddle and was pretty wobbly.

Yes. There have been other calls too.
nick Saban is a hypocritical ahole. Whines for two years about the number of plays spread offenses run, and today comes out in a hurry up?.
