Not a particularly good start for Jim Leonhard's crew.

Not turning, just expect better from his defense than that showing. He need to get it fixed.
No pass rush was the problem.
On both long completions, Nebraska ran a guy across the entire field and Martinez had time to wait for it. Hicks got beat, but he was in coverage forever. Maybe the front 7 was busy reading their press clippings this week and needed to get punched in the mouth to get serious?

Sit Pryor on the next series and put Bracey in there. I'm a little biased because my kids when to high school with Bracey, but you can't drop passes like that.
Never thought I'd see the day where Mertz throws balls accurately enough to be constantly dropped.
The Wisconsin front 7 has not been good so far. They are the reason they've been lights out on defense this year, but they are getting dominated right now. No pass rush at all and getting cleared out in the run game.

Adrian Martinez makes such random, risky decisions that a good defense that knows what to expect is thrown totally off and give up big plays from assuming no one would be dumb enough to try to make such a play.

Nebraska found something on film with these deep crossing routes, but the pass rush has been terrible with one exception (the sack to end the second drive)
