A βclearly superiorβ team does not do the 4 things listed
The two RBs have 21 carries for 115 yards against a good defense, so you can't say that Bucky hasn't been effective running the ball or that the OL has been completely ineffective.
Funny how all those #Badgers fans who couldnβt wait for Jack Coan to leave Madison are now wishing he was still their QB.

This is the type of game where a power back like JT or Ball or even Clay would come in handy. Penn State has been on the field a long time so you need to get physical and lean on them. Melusi and Berger are shifty scat back guys, but neither guy is good in short yardage and both are prone to getting tripped up a lot.
Play Barry Ball and at some point those 3-4 yard gains turn into bigger gainers.

That's why I said
There is plenty of time left and the Badgers are the clearly superior team physically, but some things need to change.
The Badgers WRs and RBs arenβt physical. At least not in this game anyway.

Got it
Surprised no jet sweep plays
Good back to back throws there by Mertz. He just looked more comfortable and in rhythm.

Finally got one, but PSU was ready for it. Prior with a great individual play to get 9.
That catch will help Ferguson's NFL draft stock. Not many TEs have hands that good.
We have a game
Great response from Wisconsin.
This is good football.
Is Scott Nelson a Freshman?
Badgers blow another coverage. The fact there was no pass rush was as big a problem. I think even the announcers were surprised Leonhard elected to go 4 man rush only on a 3rd and long.

Not so great of a response on defense.
Hold em to 3 would be great

You're saying he should know as a free safety not to let WRs get behind him twice in about 5 plays?
Special teams screw ups now even.
Thatβs big
This is fun.
Dike doesn't get the same call that the Penn State WR got.

The fact that Nelson was up for a third time against a deep route must mean it's by design.
Should have been an easy 6, but the Badgers catch a break.
Not sure who the Penn State punter is but holy crap he can drill it
Wisconsin defense getting some recognition
Helps to have JJ Watt, *******, Borland, etc.
Mellusi may not be J. Taylor, but he has the vision of a typical great Wisconsin RB. He gets 2 or 3 when he should lose yardage and 8-10 when he should only get 5.
Taylor would have had 200+ today. He was a special back. Mellusi is solid, but heβs not close to JT.
Good drive going here keep feeding it to the backs.
Tuba Time!
Nice kick.
Needed that!
Nice kick. You feel good for the kid.
No more busted coverages from the defense and should be OK.
Was that kickoff by design or did he just mishit it?

Must have been planned...not much of a run up to it.
Penn State's OC has clearly outschemed Leonhard in the second half. A lot of wide-open guys and easy throws.
Of course, horrible tackling helps too.

Seems weird just to concede 10-12 yards when you stopped them at the 20 on the last kickoff.
2nd and 10. A run does no damn good.
