Only saw about half of what was a half-assed game and I think everyone knows the pluses and minuses.

-Kraft was kind of quiet with good LB's pasting him all day.

+but he also showed more athleticism again and I think the only thing Musgrave has on him is a little speed.

+Wicks looks like Javon Walker.  Both in their build and in the way they move.

-Love needs to either have one hand tied behind his back or fitted with blurry contacts so he has better ball placement on the easy throws so his WR's can get more YAC.  He struggles on anything that isn't difficult.

Thinking long term the offense will be just fine.  Love definitely needs to keep working his footwork and OLine needs some upgrades. Lastly MLF meds to remember that he has RBs that need to be given the ball A LOT more than he does.

The defense however there just doesnโ€™t look like a unit.  Just 11 guys out there.  Need new philosophy new coaches new practice techniques.  Unless all this 1st round talent is vastly overrated which I would have a hard time believing.

+++ Not a lot to like about this game. Still, there were some good plays as individuals: Anders. Kraft. Wicks (97 yards). Clark (two sacks). Whelan (47 ave. on two punts). Love's rating was 111 -- a surprise. It isn't unusual for young teams and QBs to have ups and downs, but it feels like too much of a regression after the earlier upswing.

--- If Barry has a job in GB next year after today, then MLF should go as well -- and I'd love to watch Barry leaving GB tonight. The DL had four sacks, Mayfield didn't run for a single yard, and yet he had almost 400 yards and a perfect rating; the holes were that big in the secondary. If MLF complained about the D last week, then he darn well better do something about it this week.

It wasn't too much to hope for the playoffs with the way Love was playing, but it became a pipe dream with Barry running the D.

+ 11, 85, 13 and mostly 10

- safeties, lb, just not good enough.  need to get these guys off the field, 25 is really bad and cost some big plays today.  need to get someone else in there, what is there to lose...

+ even if this team made the playoffs, really?  they will get boat raced in front of everyone, I am over that frankly...take the picks, they showed enough for me to keep that core intact but clean up the defense.

Willing to risk that. All MLF is going to do make his next crony hire. Another shitty defensive coordinator.

Plus hoping the next head coach will do something about Loveโ€™s horrendous footwork.

His footwork will get fixed. That's the least of issues on this team. It has as much if not more to do with the confused o line he has in front of him, and playing against defenses that actually believe in putting pressure on the qb.

Unfortunately, MLF can't be demoted to OC. He's hitched his wagon idiotically to Joe fing Barry. He also continually shows he's nowhere near the coach his record indicates.

At this point, Barry has been afforded more time than Mike Pettine was. We all remember how he was the whipping boy before he was let go. But his unit was able to make stands to preserve a good share of victories. Maybe he would not have been the guy, but the Barry defense is beyond embarrassing and getting worse. Wtf do you do in a spot where the head coach has chosen such a guy? If you force a firing, it's a lack of confidence in your head coach's competence in hiring. Do you override MLF? Idk that there will be any choice but to can both HC and DC, because MLF just can't quit Joe Barry. It's a mess. If nothing changes, nothing changes.

So you want to have Love learn a whole new offense next year? That's a good way to ruin a young QB. Better to build off of what he's learned this year.

Demote MLF to offensive coordinator, bring in a new head coach, and for Godโ€™s sake, get a defensive coordinator who didnโ€™t rank 32-32-17-19 in points allowed, and 32-32-28-28 in yards allowed his four seasons before coming to Green Bay.

Baker freaking Mayfield having a perfect passer rating against the Packers in a must win game to have any shot at the playoffsโ€ฆis truly scraping the bottom.

+ + +   Decent game by the young offensive guys.  I think they have a lot of potential.  Add a couple offensive linemen, a good elusive  speedy RB, etc and I think theyโ€™ll be good.  Musgrave & Kraft could be a nice combo.

- - - BARRY, BARRY & BARRY  When things are going wrong on D, I donโ€™t see any adjustments by Barry.  If it ainโ€™t working, try something else.  Safety play really needs upgraded, probably at LB too.

Another- getting us excited after the wins against Detroit & KC.

I was more excited about the improvement in the offense in those 2 wins than anything that the defense did.

+  We're inching toward a good draft pick

-  Where to start?

If I had a dollar for every time MLF said he should have run the ball more, I'd have...probably $50 by now.  And again, he chokes in a big game.

And what's MLF doing putting people on pitch counts when we needed this game to get in the playoffs?  Fuck that, it's like MLF expected they were going to win.  Get their asses out there to play, Mr. Softie.  I guess now they can just relax and rest everyone.

Enough's been said  about Barry.  MLF's attitude during the presser was pretty telling, and that attitude carries over to the team.  It's like he just didn't give a shit.  Show some passion, spit some nails, FFS, MLF.

I don't think a HC can throw players or coaches under the bus anymore in today's NFL. MLF got a bit of heat last week for saying what he did about Nixon's muffed punt. If he said the quiet part out loud after today -- "Our defense played like sh*t! Barry has to do better or he won't have a job and so do the players!" -- no DC or FA is going to want to work with that type of HC. And unfortunately, Barry is insulated in the booth so we can't see or hear any interactions between them. But, I'd love to see a shot of Barry's headphones melting down the sides of his face.

+++++

Kraft.  Wicks is maybe the best WR.  Romeo had some nice catches too. Nice to see Aaron Jones  back out there. Jenkins had some very good pull blocks. Kenny Clark with some good rushes  on Mayfield, just couldn't finish.  Kicker and punter did O K. Not any major injuries I can think of.

---------

Where to start.  On a 1st and 10 Van Ness had a 9 yard sack. So it's 2nd and 19 and he is taken out of the game.  What the hell?    Preston Smith disappeared for 2nd week in a row, he is done.   Nixon is the worst DB on the field and since he is not making any returns, cut him tomorrow.   Either Alexander plays or cut him,  waste of a roster spot.
