I am also a fan of McClellin's and I would love for us to get him! But, I think he'll be available when we pick in the second round and we will scoop him up there. He's rising up boards, so your prediction is still plausible.
Just going by information I've been told, err read... my guess, Green Bay may or may not pick one of the following with their 1st pick.

Brandon Thompson- DE- Clemson
Mark Barron- S- Alabama
Fletcher Cox- DE- Mississippi St.
Steven Gilmore-CB- South Carolina
Kendall Reyes- DE- Uconn
Whitney Mercilus- OLB- Illinois
I like McClellin as much as anyone and I'm convinced he will be a Packer, but it won't be in round 1. That's a terrible value at 28. At the earliest he's a 2nd round talent.

Thompson likes to get what he believes to be a great value in round 1, meaning a player that has fallen for reasons he can live with. Rodgers, Bulaga, Sherrod, Matthews, etc. were all thought to be great values at the spots he picked them. Heck there was talk at the time that the only reason Justin Harrell didn't go much higher was his bicep injury. Hawk and Raji were the only ones that you could argue weren't great values, but they were safe picks at positions we needed. McClellin won't be a great value at 28 and he's not the kind of elite safe pick that would make him want to take him there. Really good player with a lot of upside, but not an elite player and not a 1st rounder.

I think there will be plenty of trade back opportunities as this draft is ripe with overrated pass rushers. Nick Perry, Andre Branch, etc. will all be available at 28 and will be very enticing for a team in the late 30's/early 40's to make the jump up. I could see us dropping back to Jacksonville's 2nd round pick or Carolina or Buffalo...all of those teams want to keep upgrading their pass rush. McClellin isn't an awful value in that range. Like I said though, I think you're right on the ball with McClellin being a Packer, can't see it in round 1 though.

Whatcha got?

Copycat! Razzer Though I think TT may be able to trade back for him. I have been thinking McClellin, Fletcher Cox or Kevin Zeitler but Cox will likely be gone.
I know there are good players on bad teams, but I don't want anything to do with anybody that played for Clemson's sorry defense last year. Anybody watch the Orange Bowl?

Pretty sure Grave Digger is right...Melvin Ingram. I mean, he'll be there at 28, right? Big Grin
I would add Melvin Ingram and Courtney Upshaw to the list but TT might have to put a deal together to move up to get them. Also think TT would go O-line if someone drops. Mike Adams might still be available at #28.
I like threads like this because it's fun to speculate. follow the Everyone knows it's a total crap shoot with what TT will do, but it's fun to "play the game".

I am not a recruitnik; I mostly follow the draft thru this board. I will say, however, that, in general, I like players from "mid major" schools. Guys at places like Boise tend to have a chip on their shoulder and want to prove they can play with the guys from the SEC, B10, B12 etc.

I have stated in another thread that I think TT will go OLB @ #28, so I like the visual of this McClellin kid in a GB uni. Whether he is worthy of the 28 pick, I don't know. Maybe this is the kid TT will target with a trade-back.

Otherwise, I am sure teams earlier in round 1 will continue to panic over picking QBs, looking for their own AR12. Because of that, some guys will drop. Happens every single year. No reason to think it won't this year.

#1 - OLB
#2 - Interior OL (Zeitler) or S (kid from Notre Dame)

Is it just me or is Courtney Upshaw being over-valued as a pass rusher? I think he'll be a really good overall player, I just don't see him as a dynamic pass rusher. he just doesn't seem to have that special burst like some of the other guys.

The real Norberg was Peter Lupus. Here he is, tapping a phone (draft style):

Had one of these last weekend while watching b-ball tourney games. 100 oz. of your favorite draft beer at your table.

And, to call one.....Devon Still.

Is that a bong or Mike Neal's most recent drug test?
If I had to have my dream draft (no guarantee any of these guys would be available):

1) Mark Barron
2) Vinny Curry
3) Derek Wolfe
4a) Josh Norman
4b) Philip Blake
4c) Jeff Fuller
5) B.J. Coleman
6) Nicolas Jean-Baptiste
7a) Caleb McSurdy
7b) Chaz Powell
7c) Levy Adcock
7d) Brandon Marshall

Grave Digger I think your analysis of the issue is dead on, but if Fletcher Cox were to be there at 28 TT would look like Ron Wolfe the year he sprinted to the podium to draft Wayne Simmons. There is no doubt in my mind if Cox is there and he hasn't been found having sex with little boys or at least too many little boys he is in Green and gold + TT would come up in round two to get mcclellan!
