Ted takes Desmond King from Iowa to replace Micah Hyde and refill the racist Pack-Hawkeye quota.    Just kidding...I have no idea what Ted is thinking, but it will probably be close to midnight before the Pack pick comes up, ESPN will go to a commercial break as soon as they are on the clock, and then when they return we'll find out the Pack traded back and won't make their first pick until tomorrow night!

Glad I have other stuff to do tonight. I'll get home fairly late and then spend the next 2 hours reading all of the angst coming from the Pack fans regardless of who the pick is.

In the past 10 years. The Browns have had two first round draft picks four different times. Of those 8 picks:

One is a Hall of Famer - Joe Thomas

Two are just "guys" - Danny Shelton and Cameron Irving.

One is hanging by his NFL career thread somewhere else - Brandon Weeden

The other 4 players are out of the league entirely - Johnny Football, Justin Gilbert, Trent Richardson, Brady Quinn.

Over the course of 10 years the Browns had two first round picks 40% of the time. And they ****ed it up to an almost incomprehensible level. This is the the best explanation of why the Brown are the Browns.

The Browns are thinking about taking Mitchell Trubisky with the first pick tonight....

I like local kid Watt but would love hometown kid Vince Biegel even more on day 3.

It would be hilarious to listen to the Badgers homers rip on Thompson for being so stupid as to not take Watt at #29, only to do the complete flip-flop 24 hours late and praise Thompson for being so wise for taking Biegel at #93.

It's looking more and more like Biegel could be a third rounder and if he does slip out of round three, he probably does not make it out of the first 10 picks in round four.  Rankings I'm seeing does not make him look like a stretch at #93.

McGinn has a point about King, they seem to covet potential in their R1 picks over their resume. King certainly has the athletic potential, but the only reason I can see them not picking King is his lack of versatility. With his long, lanky body he's basically an outside corner only...would you trust him in the Slot vs. Cole Beasley or Julian Edelman? Probably not. Push comes to shove I think they go with whoever has the highest athletic potential with the most versatility. That's likely White, Jackson, Awuzie at CB.

If TT decides he still wants those hybrid guys in the secondary, I'll call Obi Melifonwu as a corner.

Maybe Whitt can whip (or whitt?) him in to shape, but he's not shown he can handle coverage. He has the athletic potential to play CB, but he got shredded for 12 TDs over teh last 3 years.

He'd fit right in.

I don't disagree, but he does have the size, speed and versatility to play in every package and fits that mold Thompson seems to like lately. Corner almost seems to have become the new "converted TEs to OTs".

He also would have the size to bang with Julio, Dez, and even hybrid TEs.

How late is "fairly late"? The Packers, if they stay put, will probably make their pick around 10:30 PM CDT.

Band rehearsal tonight so I probably won't get home until 11:00 or later depending on how much stuff we end up working on. It's about a 40 minute drive to where the practice is so maybe I'll cheat on the way home and turn the radio on to find out what's happening. I really don't care for this 3 day draft format at all. I used to like the draft weekends when it all happened on Sat. and Sun. much better.

Sticking with LSU CB Tre'Davious White. Won't be surprised if it's Colorado CB Chidobe Awuzie. Darkhorse is Kansas St. OLB Jordan Willis.

Changing my darkhorse: Tennessee RB Alvin Kamara. He's not quite as skilled as Mixon, but he's very close...and he's not punched any women.

Draft Kamara, sign Blount, and with Monty in the mix that's not a bad backfield.

Greenberg read a stat this morning on the Mike & Mike show that said since the Browns drafted Thomas, they have drafted 83 other players.
Thomas has been to the Pro Bowl 10 times. The other 83 have combined  for 9 appearances.

Alvin ain't no altar boy either. When Nick Saban won't let you on the sideline for LSU game and then suspends you for "behavioral issues" you've ****ed up pretty bad. Getting suspended at Bama for behavioral issues??? He left Bama and followed that up with an arrest. He's a really good RB though.

For being immature as an 18 year old freshman and then getting arrested for driving on a suspended license. Compared to sucker punching a woman in the jaw I think that's small potatoes. I believe his arrest was in 2014 and he hasn't had an issue since. Joe Mixon has no place in the NFL, don't lump Alvin Kamara or even Dalvin Cook in with him.

McGinn reminds me of the kid in school that always licked his snot when he had a cold.
I'm not defending Capers one iota, but last year was as fudged up as it could possibly be for our defensive backfield. There were times when Randall and/or Rollins had no business playing, but they were essentially forced to. There was literally nobody else available.
I can't think of another year, with the exception of 2010, where we would play guys like Brice, DeLorean, Waters, and others who weren't ready for prime time.
The results were predictable. It's amazing we made the playoffs, much less advancing as far as we did, but it wasn't because of outstanding DB play.

I still think we need to add another DB that can hang with the likes of Dez and Julio, but I also expect Randall and Rollins to bounce back from injury. Both are still talented players, and will be in their 3rd year.

I'm no "Hair" Kiper but 4 TDs/year over 3 years is "shredded"?

He was the SS at UConn. I don't know how often he was in coverage, but he wasn't lining up against teams #1 or #2 WR and he wasn't doing it against elite competition. More than likely he was giving up TDs to TEs, RBs, or maybe a teams #3 WR. If we're talking about a CB in the B10 or Pac12 I would agree with you, but a Safety in the AAC?
