I’m sticking with my original pick from a couple of months ago:

Kingsley Suamataia.

Multiple year starter.

Started on both sides. Could also swing inside, if needed. (Plus over Guyton and Mims)

Premium position with probably second-longest career length.

Just turned 21 on January 18th, in a class short on underclassmen.

Fits well in height/weight/arm length they prefer. (Second plus over Guyton/Mims)

Has as high of upside as anyone but may need some development, which has been a common Gutekunst theme.

Has some needed nasty in his play.

Punditry has had him sliding a bit in lying season.

If he hits, he would likely be a franchise tackle for the rest of Love’s and Gutekunst’s careers, even if he needs some time to get there. That would be a hell of a get.

That's a really compelling argument for Gute's "type" of pick.  But is 25 too high for him?

One more prediction:  When Gutey makes his pick someone will accuse him of reaching for a player he could have had later and/or trying to be too cute with his picks.

I assure you, he's letting his board "come to him."

Guys worth moving up for, IMO, would be Joe Alt, OT; Terrion Arnold, CB; Quinyon Mitchell, CB; Laiatu Latu, DE/Edge; Leonard Taylor, DT; Byron Murphy, DT; Graham Barton, OL; Brock Bowers, TE; maybe Cooper DeJean, if that's who Gute really likes. I think that just isn't the case. If Gute does not move up, I think he may look at DeJean, but my bet is Barton at #25. If Gute trades out of round 1, I think Edgerrin Cooper, LB, comes into play with our 1st pick of the 2nd round.

Probably not. San Fran and Kansas City would also be teams looking at him right around there, and Philly could be interested, as well.

As much as I love Alt, they'd probably need to trade with the Giants at #6  because Tennessee will likely grab him immediately. That would be an incredibly steep price.

I also feel that the price, in draft capital, for Alt, would be really steep. It all depends on what Gute is willing to spend.

The best was last year....late 5th round....calling Sean Clifford a "reach"

Interesting that Cooper Dejean is still on the board for the 2nd round. He could fall to the Packers at #41, but I think the Packers would take Edgerrin Cooper, LB, before they took DeJean, there.

Re-reading your post on Kingsley S. If you insert "Jordan Morgan" there, almost everything else applies.

Kingsley in round 2? Maybe 🤔

I feel.like Edge Cooper is going to be a Packer.

I like Morgan a lot, he’s just a little older and had the knee injury.
