CB Al Harris retires as a Packer

Former cornerback Al Harris, who played seven seasons (2003-09) in Green Bay, has informed the club of his decision to retire with the Packers. The announcement was made Wednesday by Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations.

Harris, who was acquired by Green Bay from Philadelphia in a March 2003 trade, started all 102 games he played in for the Packers over seven seasons. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2007 and 2008, and earned second-team All-Pro honors from The Associated Press in 2007.

Harris set the Packers’ single-season record for passes defensed (tracked since 1982) with 28 in 2004, and posted 14 interceptions and 108 passes defensed during his time in Green Bay. He missed the first four games of his career in 2008 (lacerated spleen) after playing in 175 consecutive contests (163 in the regular season, 12 in the postseason). Harris also played five seasons with Philadelphia (1998-2002), one with Miami (2010) and one with St. Louis (2011).

Loved Al Harris. He loved being a Packer.

LOL....they held him to 40 yards due to a knee injury, you clown. He averaged 4.1 ypc up to that point.

Al Harris did what he had to do in going after AP's knee. Everybody knows what happens to him when he tries to take him on like a man.

When Al put AP on the bench with 1 minute left in the 3rd:

AP had 40 yards
Had already lost a fumble
Packers lead 27-0

Translation, "He was dominating and would have had far more than 40 yards"

27-0. SHOCKING that they aren't just pounding the ball with AP

Translation, "Of course they aren't going to run him down by 27"

Pick a lane man. I expected better from you instead of this "all over the map" nonsense. Seriously, Just go away.

Pick a lane? You're the clown that's "thrilled" that he was "held" to 4.1 yards per carry. Amazing accomplishment by the packlers d.

If it were a close game, I'm sure AP wouldn't have gained another yard. We know he gas a hard time running against the packlers, as evidenced by how thrilled you are that he "only" gained 4.1 per carry.

Have another bowl of cereal.
