I think the Lions will give SF all it can handle but will just come up short in a very good game.  SF 24 Lions 17

The AFC game? Usually when the Packers are out of it I will root for an AFC team.  Struggling with that this year since I am a bit tired of KC and for some reason I can't stand the Ravens.  Anyhow I will go with the Ravens 31-23

DET's offense is rolling.  Maybe not running up points but they seem to get what they need when they need it.  SF may have some doubt creeping in after what GB just did to them when it was expected to be a cake walk.  Only thing with DET is their D is not very good and Goff is a different QB outside. Deebo may not go but Shannahan will have a week to gameplan around him.

Put Goff into the situation Love faced, with the rain blowing sideways, in SF, and Goff loses that game. SF by 14. I am also tired of the Chiefs, but not tired enough to pick them to lose, just yet. Can KC stop Jackson? It will be a lot like covering Allen. Lots of QB runs and sneaks. If Mark Andrews plays, this week, he will be targeted a lot. Another close one in the AFC game. KC by 3, 20-17.

KC and Mahomes is on a run everybody thought GB would be on after SB45.

KC's D is pretty good.  Also the youngest in the league, IIRC. BAL can definitely win but they have to be clenching up a bit after watching that game sunday night.  Reid/Mahomes are just so tough to rattle in critical situations.

I hope every time Baltimore scores on Sunday they look up at Taylor Swift in her suite and give her the heart sign with their hands like Kelce does. Then when they win the team turns and gives her the heart sign. Hopefully by games end Kelce is having a meltdown and either crying or blowing a gasket.

I don't care for either of the NFC teams. I guess I will have to go with the MeatHeads team since I just don't like San Fran.

The only reason why is the Kelce/Swift thing.
I've had it up to here with the obligatory sideline shots of that goofy bitch.

I feel the same way.  KC for a long time was the team I rooted for in the AFC but now I am just tired of them for the exact same reason you said.

I get that the NFL it eating it up because they are getting people watching who probably are just watching to get a glimpse of her.

Good god can you imagine how bad this will be if the Chefs make the Super Bowl?

This post has the potential to be an instant classic when KC and SF win this weekend

Silly reason to dislike a team.  I doubt Swift and Kelce want the attention the NFLFU and the networks are giving them.   There are lots of wives and girl friends who attend games that get no attention.   The hate reminds me of the negative press Kurt Warner's wife got. She never asked for it either.

I for one love watching Mahomes. He can make plays many QBs can't make.  I'd rather watch Mahomes in the Superb Owl than Lamar.

Mahomes's 6th consecutive AFCCG.  He's never NOT been in the AFCCG since becoming the starter.  The dude isn't just supremely physically gifted as a QB, he's also as smart as any other.  You can see him toying with defenses on certain plays.

That said, BAL has a really good team this year and Lamar has been very good, probably MVP.  Their 3 losses have all been end of game, 1-score losses.  They could easily be undefeated.

Wolf never should have let Reid leave GB.

He wanted to but the mob would have killed him in the press If he would have bypassed Rhodes or Sherm Lewis at that time for a white assistant coach.  I understand why he hired Rhodes but man what could have been.

I remember that.....it was a time when the Rooney Rule was in full force by the entire planet.

Instead of selecting the best PERSON for the job it had to be a person of color. Just a different time back then and I liked the Rhodes hire.

I don't think anyone knew Andy Reid would turn into Andy "effing" Reid a quarter of a century later.

I'm glad things are better now and every team has given people of color in positions up and down the orgs including GM. I believe the orgs see past skin color now. That's a great thing for humanity.

Swift's being there is bringing in new football fans among young girls. It's become a "thing." Think about it like this: a new fanbase bringing in more fans, more money, etc., and kids may get it now when dad (or mom) want to watch a game. This dad says he watches games with his daugher and exchanges football/Swift memes:

"Van Valkenburg also spoke about his experience as a football fan and 'girl dad' to a Swiftie in a new Vogue story about the singer's 'NFL Era.'

"In the article, he said that despite his fondness for it, football never clicked with his daughter, Molly, until this season.

"[It] just never resonated until the Taylor stuff,” Van Valkenburg told Vogue. (story)

If it helps bring in new fans, and it increases bonding for fathers and daughters, then it's a good thing. If it can help get teens' faces out of their personal screens and into talking to parents, I'm all for it.

No sympathy. It's his job to deal with the press not bow down to it.

I’m with you.  In addition to the whole Swifties dynamic, Patrick Mahomes is sort of the new Tom Brady.  He’s not a bad guy, but he’s reached a point where he’s so overexposed in commercials and other avenues that it kind of gets old seeing his face out there for everything like Brady/Manning used to be.

I won’t deny Mahomes talent though, if someone wants to make a case that he’s the best QB of all time, I won’t argue.  He’s just so incredible at maneuvering around and outside of the pocket and still throwing perfect passes, he’s a unicorn.

That all said, I hope someone other than Mahomes, Kelce and co. end up with the title this year.

Feel the same way about the Chefs. Just gettin tired of them on TV. What's next? Travus and Tay Tay doing a Jardiance commercial?

Loved them when Hank was the coach. Felt sorry for them when Marty was the coach. Pulled for them when Mahomey first beat SF. But Patty and Travus are in just about every freakin commercial during a game. Any now they show Tay Tay even when another Chef scores. The only good thing about them this year is when she didn't go to Minnesota. They raised ticket prices for the game and she blows them off. Freakin hilarious

Are they going to stay fans after Travis Kelce retires from the NFL or breaks up with Swift?

Some will, many won't. At worst, it's a push and zero new fans are made (highly unlikely), but any net gain is better than zero.

I do not listen to her music and cannot name a single song of hers, but I love what she has done for young girls and I love her snubbing the vikings, too! It was hilarious! I had not heard that Minnesota raised the prices for that KCC game! That makes it truly special!

Is there any truth to that?  I’ll give you the secondary market but the Vikings selling tickets at a higher price?

"After two sold-out tour dates in Minneapolis earlier this year, the city is aware of what kind of impact Swift has on the local economy. Her impact has also been felt by the NFL with nearly 27 million people tuning in to last weekend's Chiefs-Jets game making it the most-watched Sunday show since the Super Bowl.

"If Taylor chooses to come back to Minneapolis [sometimes known as Swiftieapolis] this weekend, we’ll be Ready For It," said Frey, according to TMZ. "It’s possible she will have to console Travis Kelce after the Vikings beat the Chiefs, but there are plenty of great spots across town for them to go on a date and lift their spirits!"

As of Friday morning, resale tickets for this weekend's game are averaging $100 more than other upcoming games at U.S. Bank Stadium.

It remains to be seen if this romance will be a quick fling or timeless, but many fans' wildest dreams will be crushed if she does not appear at upcoming games. "

That is what I've read here, on these pages. It would not be any different than the vikings forcing visiting Packers fans to buy a ticket for the next vikings' home game, as they did, back in the 90's, when the viking games were blacked out because they could not sell out the seats to the Metrodome, when the vikings were scheduled to play.

I kind of want to see a KC vs. Detroit super bowl.  KC with the glamour of winning all the time and Swift vs. a fan base that hasn't sniffed a title in 67 years and is in a blue collar town. The Lions are our division rival but I would love to see them hoist the Lombardi in that scenario.

Deebo on the sidelines....49ers in a blowout

3 INT's/Fumbles for Goff. Purdy looks like Brady. Not supposed to rain on Sunday.

Packers really missed a golden opportunity and they know it too

I want KC to lose so there's zero opportunity for a three-peat. Ordinarily, I don't mind Reid or Mahomes, and I love watching Pacheco and wishing he was a Packer. I could do without the Kelce/Swift thing, but that will end soon enough. I'm also a transplant to the hometown of Ravens safety Geno Stone, so I'd like to see him play in a SB. That said, the Chefs are champs until they get knocked off, and it wouldn't surprise me if they walk out of Baltimore with a win by hook or by crook. They know how to win games.

I don't want to see the Niners in the SB simply because I don't want them adding to their trophy case. Do they "deserve" to be there? Yeah, as much as anyone else does. So I want either Det to beat them outright, or a SF blowout that leaves the Pack as the only other NFC team to mount a serious challenge against them. I think the Niners win convincingly but I'm pulling for an upset.

Remember when I said I wanted Buffalo to go through the gauntlet? (Beat KC, Ravens, SF)

Well that's exactly what K.C. will do if they win it... (Beat Buff, Ravens, SF)

That will be quite impressive if they pull it off.

I give the Lions about a 1/100 shot of beating SF and 1/1,000 of winning it all.

Who I think will win, in order

  1. SF
  2. KC
  3. Balt
  4. Detroit

Just have a hunch Baltimore craps the bed on Sunday and SF in a laugher
