Prediction (and hope).

These Campbell F Ups are going to do the Lions and Campbell what the 2014 Seattle debacle did to the Packers and McCarthy.

Bulaga has spoken about how the 2014 players and the team never really recovered from that loss to the Seahawks..

i think this loss is going to haunt Detroit players, management, fans, but most especially DAN CAMPBELL for the rest of his time with the Lions.

That may apply to both losing teams today. You make Lamar the highest paid qb, your whole offense works, or doesn't work, with him. Where do they go after such a trash performance? If I'm a Lions fan, I'd want Campbell's ass fired tonight. I know it won't happen, but it should after this disaster. On the bright side, keep this fool in Detroit at the helm. He fake punted from inside his own 30 on Thanksgiving. But if I'm honest, I feel terrible for those players and those fans tonight. Certain moments are insurmountable because they get branded in your psyche. That's what this feels like. As disappointed as I was with Jordan Love's last throw, I'm confident there's far more good than bad coming our way. Idk that Lions fans can say the same.

Maybe the door has closed for Detoilet.  When things start going bad for them next season the players will begin to doubt Meathead.  And when that doubt creeps in the players will begin to question him and won't follow his lead.

The meltdown against Seattle was worse because eight things had to do wrong for the Packers to lose in the final five minutes and all eight of them did. All of them were physical errors and play on the field. Detroit had a meltdown because of bonehead coaching decisions. Totally correctable except the Meathead does not know he made the wrong decisions.

More like, who cares who wins the SB?  I hope SF and KC both lose.

Everyone is tired of the Chiefs, but I never get tired of watching that rat-faced fucker Shanarat lose. Same for Lynch. I'll be pulling for Andy Reid.

Well, a lot of people thought the Eagles would be an automatic NFC repeat in the Super Bowl, not to mention Jacksonville taking a step forward.  Neither happened.

Detroit could be back, but if they lose their OC who knows?

That's kind of why I think this was worse. At least in 2014 it was eight things going wrong on the field. If you're a Lion player, how could you walk off the field tonight and not feel like your own coach stole this from you? Like singlehandedly.

Hahaha.....only way SF beats KC is KC beating themselves with turnovers.

All things being equal.....KC by 10

Here's the line

Campbell is going to sell his “all gas no brakes” narrative for second half decisions to pass on the FG’s when questioned by reports.
Only one of those reporters is going to ask “why kick the FG on the 2 yard line with 10 seconds left in the 1st half then?!?!?!?”

And that’s the moment the meat head realizes he is in fact a meat head.

Watching Campbell’s press conference. Not taking much of the blame himself. Interesting. Lions had a lot break right for them this year, including the Packers doing them a huge favor in the playoffs by knocking off Dallas.  I think he knows they might not have the same luck next year.

I watched and agree with you totally. Lions will have a target on their backs all season long. Question is whether they hold up or not. This is where having Goff, who played to his ceiling this year, comes into play. History suggests a regression.

Wasn't it Fandame who laid out almost the exact way for this game to go?

Purdy.  The dude sucks until he has to make just enough plays to win.  Which he has.  Two weeks in a row.  Not a SF fan but he's a feisty little dude.

DET has to feel much like our guys did a week ago.  Had control of the game, didn't make a handful of crucial plays that could have helped seal it.  Halftime adjustments, bitches!

I genuinely felt sick for Lions fans after this one.  It really did remind me of when we lost to the Seahawks 9 years ago.

I’ll give Jared Goff credit, he played a good game and really truly had very little to do with this loss.  Sure he wasn’t perfect but at worst I thought he deserved a B grade.  The F grade belongs to coach Campbell and WR Reynolds with 2 key drops.

I didn’t have a problem with the Pack going on 4th down last week as it was just so close and halfway decent execution on a QB sneak or creative run play gets you the first down.  Today was different, I thought those 4th downs were a bit further away for Detroit and there was definitely less of a chance of success.  Campbell just completely blew it and really needs to rethink that over aggressive attitude.

It will be interesting to see if Detroit takes a step back or step forward next year.  The one thing in their favor is they have a ton of 1st and 2nd year guys similar to the Pack that have some upside to improve.  The things not in their favor is how they handle losing their offensive coordinator and if that causes Goff to regress.  If the Lions keep that O-Line healthy, that’s as good of a line as there is in today’s NFL.  I’m not sure if any of those guys have contracts that are up, but that terrific O-Line may be the thing that keeps them as a top contender for the division and conference as long as the majority of them stick around.

I believe that since the NFL went to 4 Divisions in each Conference, the NFC North is now 2-9 in NFC Championship games, with 1 of those wins being the Packers beating the fellow NFC North member Chicago Bears.

Niners can't count on Andy Reid making those types of decisions.  God, I hate the Niners.  If these guys luck their way to a SB win I'll have to move away.

It sort of made me sick watching GM John Lynch strut around after the game.  Man did that team get lucky to get out of the NFC with 2 games they easily could have blown at home.

I don’t think this 49ers team as as strong in the trenches as the 2019 team was.  If the Chiefs are catching Mahomes’ passes, they win.  If they’re dropping them like they have at times this year, the 49ers will have a fighting chance.

He turned  down FGs attempts from 45 and 47 yards.  The first one could have held serve in third quarter and second one tied  the game   A fourth down stop changes momentum in front of a home crowd in a championship game!

then on third and goal under two minutes they have a running play.  Ok, but he has no backup play ready and they have to burn a time out.     If they were going to go for it on 4th then either pass it or have a play ready.    Using a time out relegates the game to an onside kick. 4% chance

Yes some player dropped passes but overall poor job.     some say his attitude is what got them there but they also lost games due to his style. Dallas game as well after the refs blew it.  Take a tie and go to OT

oh well the meathead will be back and is beatable.

Don’t feel too sorry for them. They have been thrilled with our own playoff struggles, trust me.

I think the youth and playoff inexperience of the Lions and Packers helped the Niners immensely in the last two weeks. They stayed composed when the chips were down, and waited for things to unravel. That’s why I was so happy for this young Packers team to make the playoffs regardless of the outcome - the experience is invaluable.

The division is ours next year, so long as GB doesn't beat itself. This was a monumental blow to a franchise that really deserved to win today.

Yup! Here I am! Called it!    (Had to take off during the game to get my son back to college, so I couldn't participate in the X4 witty reparte.)

Campbell will lose this team sooner rather than later. You could argue going for it inside the 25 against GB was okay because the division was pretty well sewn up by Thanksgiving. But, in the NFCCG against SF with a chance at the Super Bowl, you pass up the points with an ace kicker and go for it twice because you want to be the Big NFL Man and don't realize/care that you'll rip the heart out of your team if it fails? Wait until his players go home and reflect and realize what really happened to dash all their hard work and Super Bowl dreams...

Hubris, thy name is Dan Campbell.

Campbell mentioned in his press conference...he knows how hard it is to get back here and next year will be twice as hard.

If he had just changed it up a little for this game - kicked the 2 FG's, especially if he would've made the 48 yarder. Badgely is pretty good and I think he makes it.

It would've deflated the stadium....instead you brought the stadium into it by giving the Niners life and not converting the 4th down. It snowballed from there with a crazy bouncing catch of a ball that should've been picked.

I said it to my wife and her Dad when he went for it....."Guy is a meathead" Soooo......enjoy that Lion fans....have fun....see ya in September 😈

As bad as the Niners were in the last two weeks,  they find a way to win. We need that.

They didn't find a way to win .....the other team blew it and had many opportunities to put them away but.....it's more fun to go for it on 4th down! Not these boring FGs

Thought the second-half Lions resembled the second-half Packers last week- moment appeared too big during crunch time. Lion fans are like all other NFL fans- they love the aggressiveness from Campbell as long as it works.

Campbell is highly aggressive and it's costing them.  Don't understand coaches that don't take points in the playoffs.  Always a losing proposition.

Seattle should have taken the points in the 2014 NFCCG instead of the fake FG.
