If it gets to third and long at some point, I'd like to see MLF call one of those max-protect single receiver deep routes that Jordy Nelson used to run. Let Love really air one out to MVS or Adams. If he has an arm, put it on tape and maybe force the safeties to think about honoring deep routes.

Unrelated to the Chiefs (except maybe for team name), how pissed must the Braves be. Last night during their WS clincher, there’s political intrigue and upset dominating the news. And today there’s TOG II news.  Oh, and they live/play in Atlanta.

I think for the first offensive play they should run 10 players out on the field including the brand new long snapper... no QB. And snap it out the back of the end zone.... sort of a missing man formation if you will.

The Lions run plays like that all the time.

RTFB, RTFB, RTFB, and RTFB somemore.  Keep Mahomes on the sidelines.  TOP will be key just like last week.  And pray Mason is on with the new long snapper.

KC will stack the box and dare him to beat them through the air.

ARZ tried doing a lot of that last week and MLF had a great plan to counter.  Granted that was AR pulling the levers but he didn't need to make a ton of AR type throws to make it go.  This is also not the ARZ D.  Kind of the opposite.

True. I’m holding out hope.

Our OL will be up to the task.  OL love to run block.  Bahk will have something to prove and will destroy whoever is in front of him. Plus we have one of if not the best blocking TE in Big Dog Lewis.

Would it be too much to ask that after the game Vikings and Bears fans are crapping themselves because they see glimpses that the team that has bitch-slapped them for 3 decades has their 3rd straight once-in-a-generation QB?

Nah, couldn't happen.   But if it did I'd enjoy it more for their misery than any joy Packer fans would have.

Love the optimism. Good to see. Especially now a days.

Orlovsky obviously once ran out of the back of the end zone on a dropback.

Of course, Goff has thrown the ball out of bounds rather than thrown it up for grabs downfield on two 4th downplays already this year. That's actually worse than the Orlovsky play.

I'd settle for a guy in the Derek Carr/Cousins/Stafford category. As much as we like to make fun of Cousins, those of us that used to watch in the 70s and 80s would have killed for a QB that competent that could stay healthy (Dickey was at that level).

It's way too much to ask for a third top-20 all-time QB in a row. But I don't want to relive Randy Wright, David Whitehurst, Jerry Tagge, Scott Hunter, Blair Kiel, Tomczak, Rich Campbell, John Hadl, washed-up Vince Ferragamo, etc. That's what the Hundley, Tolzien, and Kizer games reminded me of.

It is a lot more than making throws, it is the ability to audible out of bad plays, setting protection, reading the defense, etc.

The Broncos won a Super Bowl in Payton Manning's last year for precisely this reason. He was a shell of his former self, but he could still change plays and get them into better running plays as well as anyone in the league. With that defense, it's what they needed.

It's not just the passing plays, it's being an extension of a coach on the field too.

Looking at the first injury report, not liking that both Keke and Lowry (and Heflin, for that matter) didn't practice earlier today.  I hope it's just precautionary for Lowry, and hopefully Keke can clear concussion protocol.   Otherwise, they're thin on the D-line.

I’d say Jordan Love’s play wasn’t quite what I was hoping for in preseason but it wasn’t horrible.  Biggest concern was 2 turnovers in limited action and easily could have had a 3rd.  Hopefully it was just rust and the fact that he was 22 years old and really raw.

He’ll have better talent around him now than in preseason and he did show some glimpses of why he’s an intriguing prospect when he played in August.  Seems like a good kid and I hope he makes the most of this opportunity.

Yup...last thing MLF wants is Nubbsy-Ubbsy free-lancin' and trying to do the Mahomes shit.

Just run the plays as called, get the plays into him quickly, hand it off to the horses, and take your shots when they come.

Do that, don't turn it over, this team has a shot to win.

So, what's the deal with Davante?  He must have/had Covid symptoms if he's still not cleared, right? Or did I miss news of him clearing protocol?

Soonest he and Barry can return is today. Per MLF, that's the expectation

I am still waiting on news about who will be available Sunday. Bahk, Adams, MVS, King, Lowery, Keke (DNP)? We know #12 is out but who else will play those other positions?

With J LOve at the helm?

Not sure why people think love isn’t acurate or a passer.  When he’s in rhythm he’s been really good. His problem is trying to make something happen and throwing up a random ball to do so when he could just live on to the next play. If he limits the later and sticks with the former he will light up the KC D if they dare him to throw.

Also get Lazard and MVS back. Great 2nd/3rd level blockers.

I was thinking along the lines of his first NFL start and what all that brings.
