Named Jim Leonhard his new DB coach
Leonhard might be my all-time favorite Badger, but it might have been better to find someone with some coaching experience, especially considering the youth in the defensive backfield next season (3 new starters, 6 or 7 incoming scholarship DBs depending on if Pryor begins at WR or DB).
They still haven't posted Wilcox on the coaches page of the official Badgers website yet. Still don't know about the linebackers coach(es). Will Tibesar coach all the linebackers? Will he do outside linebackers and Wilcox inside linebackers? Still some unanswered questions regarding the coaching staff.
I like the move. A walk-on who had to work harder than anyone to prove himself - due to his size and status - yet made it the NFL and had a good career - would be a terrific mentor and coach for one of the top B1G Ten schools. His lack of coaching experience should not be a problem at all. His personal experience of hard work and dedication is what young DB's need to hear. He will be an asset to the coaching staff.
Leonhard strikes me as a guy who has been coaching other players most of his life.
Is Ben Strickland still on the staff?

Strickland is the defensive backs coach at Florida Atlantic. Ex-Badger defensive line coach Charlie Partridge is the head coach there.
Nice, always appreciated Jim too. I agree that what he did as a walk on etc. and hard work will be a benefit. Welcome back!
