Robert Mathis has made rapid, impressive switch from 4-3 to 3-4. After one-week respite, #Packers LT B. Bulaga has another tough assignment.

#Colts LT Anthony Castonzo, probably their top OL, gets Clay Matthews after facing Peppers and Jared Allen. He has the feet but strength???

Despite bye, #Colts still not sure if five starters and nickel back will be ready to play vs. #Packers. They'll need several to spring upset

The Colts are a mess. It helps that they are coming off of a bye, but some of that is negated by the emotions relating to the coach. The Packers need to win this game, and they should.

Has to be one of the dumbest terms ever uttered. Aside from getting jobbed by the ref's, if you lose the game it's because yes it's the NFL and you lost. Were way past "trap games" with MM if we were ever there to begin with.

Colts injuries aside, the Packers should win this regardless. Big 3 game trip here. MM will not be looking past the Colts.

I still have bad memories of the '97 game when the immortal Paul Justin lit them up. MM has the team focused and Dom should have something special cooked up for the rookie and don't foresee a loss.

The Colts are a team that we should run over. We're much more talented, overall, on both sides of the ball. Not to mention QB.
The same keys still apply in this game; the OL has to contain the pressure from their pass rush and open a few holes for Benson. Defense has to get to Luck and create TO's in the back end.
Simple as pie.

After Seattle, I don't think the Packers are going to look past any team this year, add in the fact that they are chasing MN and Chicago in the division and I think the focus is going to be on every game.

BTW, that link for Blair Kiel is interesting, there are a lot of scores that you would figure had occurred at least once in such a long period.

What about Luck's line?
The Colts' musical chairs shifting of injured O-linemen could continue this week after the team promoted center A.Q. Shipley from the practice squad Monday. Who will be healthy enough to play in front of quarterback Andrew Luck is a looming question mark.

Center Samson Satele has been unable to complete the past two games due to a knee injury. When he's been out, right guard Mike McGlynn has moved to center. But McGlynn's replacement, Trai Essex, was released last week. Also, left guard Joe Reitz has yet to play a down this season after undergoing a knee scope in August.

The Colts have allowed five sacks, which doesn't sound like much, but Luck has had to withstand constant pressure at times. Plus the run blocking has been spotty at best with the Colts ranked 21st in rushing offense at 90.3 yards per game.continue

Outside linebacker Dwight Freeney (ankle) was the day's most positive development. He was a full practice participant for the first time since he was injured during the second series of the regular season opener. Now the Colts will closely monitor how Freeney responds.

Inside linebacker Pat Angerer (foot), tight end Coby Fleener (head) and center Samson Satele (knee) practiced but on a limited basis.

Me too. Started feeling sick in the 2nd half of that game. By the end of the night I was so sick, I went to the hospital emergency room and got to experience having my stomach pumped which was worse than watching the Pack's defense that day.

Spent 3 days in the hospital but was out in time to watch the Pack crush the Cowboys. Always will remember the day of that Colts game though... not fun.

We wrote a bit earlier in Final Word that the Colts could face serious problems against the Packers even with a healthy secondary. It turns out that starting corner Vontae Davis (ankle) and nickel back Justin King (groin) are out of Sunday's Indianapolis-Green Bay game.

Cassius Vaughn will start opposite Jerraud Powers. Darius Butler or Josh Gordy will be at nickel in two different versions of the package.

It could be catastrophic, but interim coach Bruce Arians has no choice but to be optimistic.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for guys,” Arians told Indy reporters Friday. "...We’ve got some guys, some new guys, that are going to get a great opportunity to go up against a very formidable opponent and show what they’ve got.

“You know, Wally Pipp; you can earn a job, that’s where the whole next man in line got started. We believe in it. If you’re a Colt, you play like a starter when you’re on that field.”

There is no other way to move forward of course.

But I feel pretty confident that Vaughn, given up on in Denver before he was traded to Indy, and Butler, given up on in New England, aren’t going to be cornerbacking versions of Lou Gehrig.
