On a serious note..does anyone know if BK is OK?  He was here one day with good, witty and fun posts, gone the next.

My guess is he got the boot. Either for an egregious post that got quickly deleted by the mods, or private messages for the same reason? Just hope it was not a medical emergency. He was an institution here for a long time, so something bad must have happened.

I am not sure what medical emergency forces a person to start posting on Rube Chat but it sounds fatal.

Agree somewhat, but the way I see it Wolf knew what Favre had. Thompson and Gutekunst, while not wrong in talent evaluation, benefitted moreso than Wolf (obvioulsy) from having HOF talent before needing to replace it.

I was happy to read that Gutekunst is getting back to Wolf's em oh of drafting QBs often. Thompson didn't follow that as closely.

GB wasn't a QB evaluating unicorn in the 70s & 80s.

Now, if GB appoints a CEO that dislikes silos, that would be awesome. Back To The Future.

I will always credit Bob Harlen for saving the Packers when he hired Ron Wolf.   Getting away from the Braatz and the board butting in era was the biggest thing Harlen and Wolf did.

GB wasn't a unicorn in doing much right at all during the 70s and 80s.  They had Dickey for a little bit and Majic but they either made bad QB draft choices or made trades I don't need to mention.

Part of it could be luck with the QB position but I give a huge amount of credit to how steady this franchise has been for over 30 years now.

AGAIN, I was referring directly to the current Favre/Rodgers/Love era we are in due in large part to the GM/HC/QBC lineage still in place.  The list of teams with back to back HOF QB's in the history of the NFL was very short.  The list of teams with a string of 3 elite (even if not HOF) QB's is a list of one.  It might be more inexplicable than the number of SB's Brady has been to and won.

You can definitely call some of it luck but not 32 years worth.
