LaFleur stressed execution. He says scheme doesn't matter if they don't block better than yesterday vs. Jets.

@TomSilverstein:   LaFleur said that OC Adam Stenavich is spending a good deal of time with the offensive line but he didn't rule out asking him to do more given his experience coaching the OL. He said the performance of the OL Sunday was the worst of his tenure.

Pack is in trouble with Heinecke playing. Defense looks like they have concrete galoshes on all the time. They couldn't contain Daniel Jones with a bad wheel.

I'm ready to bring up Tyler Goodson. At least he ran with abandon and toughness in pre-season games.  Give him a shot Gutey and MLF.

I sure hope Commander Wentz leaving on the M*A*S*H helicopter doesn't end up being addition by subtraction. But very possible that he was fragged by some of the other Commanders and this is all intentional to put Commander Heinecke in command.

I personally think given that they all have the rank of commander, the command structure will break down because how do you tell who's actually in command? It's a very top-heavy command structure.

We'll get a commanding victory over the Commanders which will help turn this ship around. But it's a very different sort of game this year, where the last couple of years they have lacked any identity whatsoever and before that were easily defeated by superior colonial technology, and smallpox.

watson needs to play also - this team really needs him he’s such a dynamic talent

Last time the Packers went 3-3, to start the season, they won the Super Bowl. Lots of time left to right the ship, but I hope the ship gets righted vs the Commanders.

Maybe if Jordy, Gerg Jennings, Charles Woodson and the Bloodline, all in their prime, came back I'd be more optimistic.

An early season must-win if ever there was. Even if it’s only 7-6, I’d take the W and hope for personnel adjustments and growth of the young guys as we head to the teeth of the sked.

The team can't cover ALL their warts in one week, but the place to start is the OL.
Getting some blocks would help tremendously.

For almost 2 weeks now we've seen reports of "we're considering everything", "changes are coming", "we'll get the ship righted" and other blather, yet they trot out the same lineup. The result is predictable. Isn't that insanity?
Ray Charles could see that Newman is in over his head, and he's not only blind, he's dead!

Runyan had a bad game, but that strikes me as more uncharacteristic rather than playing consistently bad.

In any case, the least that needs to happen, IMHO, is to remove Newman from the equation, and to move Jenkins inside whether it's right or left side.

I don't think the Packers would want to start 2 rookies on the right side, so my guess would be Jenkins at RG and either Yosh or Tom at RT. I don't think Jones is skilled enough to be thrown into the fire, and if Nijman wants to give it a go, he's earned the right at first shot, as far as I'm concerned. However, I think he doesn't play as well on the right side as he does at LT, and if Tom is more 'natural' at RT, I'm not opposed to giving him a shot at it. Isn't he a brawler, too?

This week is a house divided for me because my wife is a Washington fan.  She usually doesn't say much but after this past weekend she probably will start up a little bit.

As for the game I worry about a couple of things the Commanders QB Heinicke has played well in the past and as we all know the Packers have this history of being Hoovered by a backup.  The other thing I worry about is the Packers OL against the DL of Washington.  They are probably the only solid unit on that team.

I see more ugliness in the future.  Another ugly loss or a squeak-by win after looking listless all afternoon because WAS just refused to win.  OL better get to the smelling salts because they have another big pants DL teed up.

If the commanders don’t stunt after last week it’s coaching malpractice

Dude is 6'8" Caleb the Giant is 6'9. They can either start a "Twin Towers " basket ball team in the summer or take turns getting footballs bounced off the back of their heads by Rodgers at the goal line

Blocking and tackling win fb games. While the tackling has not been stellar it has been good enough, I’d like to see the D play with a lead more.

That leaves blocking….no QB,  no RB, no team would have sustained success behind this line.  They either have to get a lot better, or change the line up.  Probably both.  

It’s simple, the OLine play has to vastly improve to give the skill guys a chance.

Watson has been in the tub more than on the field. Doobs leads all WR with 38 targets...next is Lazard with 34, Big Bob 32. Hardly being ignored.

FO tried to sign 17 and 83...they went elsewhere. They brought in Cobb and Watkins...both have had recent injury history that didn't bode well. They told us Lazard was a legit WR1...hasn't been the case so far.

They drafted 3 rookie WR, two of which were long term projects...Doobs and Touri...Doobs has made his way into more reps only partly because of his performance. He is getting reps because we have no choice.

Counting on rookie WR is poor planning no matter who your QB is...you can point to Jamar Chase and JJ all you want...they are the outliers...very big outliers. Rookie WR almost never help year 1 or 2.

WR tallant is overshadowed by the worst OL performances we've seen in decades. It's never just one thing, but the OL being so bad is the biggest problem right now with the offense.

Packers winning a lot of games the last 3 years put a lot of deodorant on MLF's shortcomings. Even winning, he seemed pretty unsure of himself and quite frankly, a weak leader. But when you win games, you look past it and say "he obviously knows what he's doing."

Losing to the Giants and Jets is unacceptable given the talent he has at his disposal. Packers probably should have lost to the Pats too.

This is the first real adversity during the regular season we've seen MLF go through. It's going to be telling to see how/if he's able to coach his way out of it.

The hardest thing to figure out with the OL is that they now have their two pro bowl guys back and they look worse than they did when they were out.  Is it Steno no spending enough time with them?  Is it Newman?  Is it Jenkins' rust?  It's like they've never played together before.

Yeah, being able to rally the troops was the one thing MM did well during his tenure.   Pitt Macho was always able to get the boys to band together, let's see how it goes with MLF.

This is the weird part to me, we really only lost Turner in the offseason and he was injured part of the year last year and things were mostly fine last year.  You'd think the O-line would be better this year than last.  It's honestly a head scratcher.

This is just fucking brutal. I don't care if the Packers trade for Claypool, kidnap Davante Adams and bring him back, and Tonyan morphs into Darren Waller. None of that will matter if they don't clean up this shit.

Not saying AR doesn't need to up his game, he clearly does. But not even Josh Allen or Mahomes would stand much of a chance playing in front this OL.
