Green Bay -- The following is a summary of Packers coach Mike McCarthy's pre-practice press conference Wednesday morning:

  • (On practice) Was good. Today an abbreviated Wednesday and we'll go padded on Thursday.
  • (On offensive line) You have to deal with injuries this time of year. It's more of an individual thing and depends on the particular injury.
  • (On Lacy) Yes, he had a good practice.
  • (On Jake Ryan) He's done well on special teams. I think communication and urgency has picked up. He's a productive player. He's a young player who needs a lot of work.
  • (On finishing strong) I think every year is different. I think the urgency and importance... any time you go through a long season you have a long process that has continuity and process and commitment and at the end your focus is better.
  • (On using it to show team) I think the plan of how we look at the season, breaking it down to three stages, building identity, the second is the trial, the middle of the season, the gut-wrenching part and we were 2-4. Now it's the finish. We went back and reviewed some things we need to focus on.
  • (On whether urgency increases in December) Definitely. It’s December football. I think the whole league recognizes that. Everybody sees what needs to get done to get to where they need to go. Dallas is going to be on high urgency, we’re going to be on high urgency. It’s big-time football, just like the fans like it. The urgency is different this time of year.
  • (On running ball) You have to run the ball and stop the run. To be two dimensional you have to be able to run the ball to pass the ball. And we have to stop the running game and make them one-dimensional. That's our focus.
  • (On viewing team) We're 8-4 team that needs to be better at little things. Need to be detailed more.

Or have the ability to adjust the gameplan to adversity?  Just a thought.

Only two players not seen at practice were offensive linemen Corey Linsley and Josh Sitton. Fellow linemen Bryan Bulaga and T.J. Lang appeared limited.

So another day where Ty and Quarless practiced. IIRC, Quarless has to be activated this week correct? Or sent to IR?

Boys are on a short week, Pack coming off a mini bye week.

Warm weather team visiting the North in winter.

if the Pack doesn't win this one easily might as well miss the playoffs because they are done.

Dude. So if they win in a close one, it's over?

With Dallas still fighting tooth and nail for the playoffs? With players coming back from injuries? Not knowing future injuries to other teams?

That's just messed up in a bunch of ways.

Green Bay - The following is a summary of Packers coach Mike McCarthy's pre-practice press conference Thursday morning:

(On Montgomery) Definitely cleared a hurdle he hasn't cleared in prior weeks. So far so good. We'll see what he does today.
(On Richard Rodgers) Be consistent. We've asked a lot from him.
(On extra practice day) Gives you more time to work on Dallas and also gives you a chance to work on fundamentals. We were able to do that this week.
(On Cowboys blitz) We spend a lot of time on the blitz. We prefer when people blitz us. WE've gone back and dug up pressures from the past. Regardless, we spend the same round of time on blitzes. We think it's a potential big play opportunity for us.
(On tackles for loss on defense) I think the run defense as far as opportunities we're giving our players is reflected in those numbers. The recognition of formations and the flow of hte ball and what teams are trying to do. I think our anticipation of what the offense is trying to do to us is higher.
(On third and ones) You have to get a yard. Biggest thing is can't have mental mistakes, free hats, penetration. Good backs like we have are going to get 1 yard.
(On Sam Shields) He's having an excellent year. Playing with a lot of confidence. He's tackling well. I think he's having his best year.
(On no cold weather) I'm sure people from Texas like the weather, the forecast.

@Michael_Cohen13: No changes on the injury report other than LB Nick Perry (shoulder), who did not participate. Linsley (ankle) remained out as well.

@Michael_Cohen13: Bryan Bulaga (ankle), T.J. Lang (shoulder), Clay Matthews (ankle), Ty Montgomery (ankle) and Josh Sitton (back) were limited.

Can't have mental mistakes ? Does that include Clements? Calling a zone stretch, or quick pitch play on 3rd and 1 has jeopardized the lifespan of my TV. WTF ???!!!

Green Bay - The following is a summary of Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy's remarks to reporters Friday morning:

-- (On Corey Linsley) "I would say he'd be hard-pressed (to play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys)."

-- (On Bryan Bulaga) "He practiced yesterday (in pads). We'll see how he is today. He looks much better. Good to have him out there."

-- (On general health of offensive line) "Obviously, we have a number of guys fighting through some things. Today's always a pretty good indicator where they are because of the heavy load with the padded practice. We're making progress."

-- (On Eddie Lacy) "He's had two good days of practice just like the rest of our team. Potentially, we might have a wet Sunday. We did wet ball drills and things like that yesterday. We've got to take care of the football. We've got to do a better job than the last two times we lined up. Turnover ratio will be a big factor in this game."

-- (On passing game in Detroit) "Definitely we're getting better. I think Richard Rodgers really jumped out."

-- (On JC Tretter) "JC's doing a fine job. We haven't missed a beat with him in there. JC's a fine football player. His professionalism is as high or higher than anybody on our football team. He's the same guy every day."

-- (On Nick Perry) "Nick's situation (sat out Thursday with a shoulder injury) will come down to tomorrow."

Dallas @ Green Bay -- Joe Buck, Troy Aikman [AK; HI]
NO GAME due to local team at home on CBS

No joy here in Houston. No coverage, it says, 'Paid programming' at 3.25pm after the Falcons v Panthers game. Sigh!

I live in the Phoenix area, and paid for the Sunday Ticket this year to watch the Packers.  I think I had to watch them on the 700 channels once.  All other games have been on local or NFLN/ESPN.

It's funny, with all of the chatter about what "makes a catch" nowadays, that loop of Dipchit Dez seems extremely obvious - no catch - as he didn't complete the process. I mean like, obvious, no debate. NFLFU has corrupted my mind
