After tossing the ball around like idiots the first couple innings, they settled down and crushed the ball themselves.  Not bad.  Even the backup catcher is enamored with Luc.

Nope.  The Attanasio/Melvin brain-trust are looking at the last 8 games and are now convinced that the previous 100 games was just a fluke.  It's time to kickstart the 2015 season.

First move-

Brewers get:

P-Jonathan Papelbon

3B-Cody Asche

Phillies get:
P-Tyler Cravy

SS-Yadiel Rivera

P-Jorge Lopez

OF-Michael Reed

They will definite start playing better.  Just well enough to take themselves out of prime draft position.  If there ends up being 5 elite talents in this draft, the Brewers will end up picking 6th.  It's almost a guarantee.

They need to play horrible teams more often.

I would be comfortable just DFAing Broxton at this point.  Jungman could stay up as the long man when Peralta comes back from the DL

What are the Brewers actually 8 wins out of last 10 ! Great stretch for sure. Lind getting the go ahead run to win it and get the sweep ! I know it was just against Philly, but getting a 4 game sweep and going 8-2 in the last ten is great no matter what. The team is proving to them selves what they are capable of doing even if it's against the lousy teams. Build confidence. Keep turning up the heat Crew. So if we can sweep Cincy we will be out of the cellar !

Pretty much CA - however one potential silver lining could be it increases the trade value of certain guys such as Kyle Lohse.  My concern is that if they play just well enough it may prevent Melvin from making deals

Broxton is on this team to even things out.  Even if Aram, Loshe, etc. start to step up, Broxy will be there to ensure the top 10 pick.

Take a moment to see what Gilbert Lara is doing as a Brewer farmhand.

Don't care, still like winning.  No reason for these guys not to at least play up to their potential of being a .500 team the rest of the season.  They'll still end up 20 games or so under .500.  Do they really have to hit rock bottom like the Bucks to rebuild successfully?  Maybe so, but the future is unsure and I like the immediate gratification of a few wins.  It's a damn long season for fans in the seats when you suck.   Trade off whoever you can, no problem with that.  Better performance by some of the vets can only help.

But the Bucks took full advantage 2 years ago (to suck) and they parlayed that into Parker who looks like a potential stud.  In two years the Bucks reworked most of the roster and now appear to be poised to be a top 4 team in the East.

The Brewers have been fooling us since 2011 that this team can compete.  In retrospect that approach has failed because it has prolonged the rebuild and make no mistake about it - this team needs to rebuild.  Tanking this year will ensure them of a high draft pick which they desperately need instead of some meaningless wins.
