Another member of the 1965 championship team who was selected by Atlanta in the expansion draft, Grimm played guard for three seasons for the Packers.
Apparently he died last Thursday, but I didn't see any notice until today.

Weird.
Last week, Dennis Clairidge who appeared on his playing card for the Falcons in a Packer uniform passed away.
This week Dan Grimm....same story.
Anybody got a picture of Favre in his Falcon uniform on a Packer card?
...and this one always hurts....
I have a Favre rookie card
I have a Favre Viking card with McNabb commentary on the back that he should have been the QB all along with images of him skipping rocks along a glassy Minnesota lake.
Ponder that!
Looks like the Falcons got all the Packer cast offs before the Vikings found it fashionable.
What about the McNabb commentary that he didn't know games could end in a tie?
McNabb knew that well before he ever dreamed his games as a Viking could end in a tie. Didn't voice that in contract negotiations. Neither did Rick. That's what led to McNabb, then Sister Christian, then Josh, Then Christian again, Then Matt, then Teddy, Then Matt again, Then Sam, Then Case, then Kirk.
7 years. The best result is the guy that cost him the least.
It's a good bet Spielman is done in Minny. And probably in the NFL.
RIP Dan!
Dan mostly played when there was an injury to Kramer or Thurston. If Atlanta did not take him in the expansion draft, he would likely have taken over for Thurston.
It would have been a short take over if the Packers had still drafted Gillingham.
It seems that particular expansion draft was rough on the Pack.
Some interesting reading from Wiki:
Expansion Drafts Since 1960
If any of you remember some of the players we lost over those years, please add your comments. Most drafts seem to a bunch of no-name guys (to my memory).
We did lose Curry and Hornung in '67, but I remember it as the shock being greater than the actual loss.
We lost the immortal Reggie Cobb in '95 (to Jax), but I don't think it was shocking. Or a great loss....
