I am still annoyed by that cut. The Jordy cut does sting as I do believe that there was a connection with him and 12 that cannot be duplicated.
However, C-Boy has spent too much time whining about inactivity by management during this period so it would behoove me not to complain about March 13, 2018.
This cut has to remind us that this is a business as much as that sucks. Jordy gave us 10 good years and the fact is that he has slowed down and sometimes you just can't keep a guy like him around at a top salary.
Thank you Jordy you are one of the finest example of Packer people I can think of!

It doesn't matter how many teams they unleashed it on; Dom Capers still wouldn't have figured it out.
I agree, but it's possible Green Bay never plays SF in those playoffs if they get the 2 seed.
Rodgers won't ever have another connection like Jordy, they spent 10 years together working on it. Rodgers doesn't have another 10 years to spend with a WR, but I doubt we see much of a dip in production. That said, this can't be like 2015 where we don't really replace Jordy at all, we just rely on Rodgers to throw open a below average WR (James Jones at that time). Gotta get an infusion of talent, fortunately we still have sharp veterans like Cobb, Adams, and Graham who know how to get open and while Allison is young he also seems to have natural instincts for getting open.
Twitter verse says the Packers offered a salary of 2 million. He feels he can do better elsewhere.

Don't forget Ty Montgomery & our RB's can catch too. Still have options but damn what I wouldn't do for an AJ Green
I really think we will be surprised with Graham. We saw flashes of what Rodgers can do with an athletic TE this past season with Bennett, but he couldn't be bothered to catch the ball or give any effort...good opportunities were there though. Opportunities will be there be there this year and Rodgers will get Graham the ball and I think we will be impressed with what he has left in the tank.
Welp. We could watch this and not feel so bad.....
At least we know he's not perfect!
....But....I still feel bad he got cut. I thought Jordy had AT LEAST one more season in him. Give him the off-season to strengthen that knee and see what happens in 2018. Hey, maybe he tests the market and comes back cheap. Maybe?
It's always been my opinion that the major knee injuries typically take 2 years to fully rehab. I'm guessing better techniques have reduced the down time over the years; it used to be a year or longer to resume playing, and in some cases, that's now down to 6-8 months.
But my eyes tell me their speed and fluidity doesn't really return for around 18-24 months.
That's why I think if Jordy indeed keeps playing, he should have a reasonably good year. So much is dependent on the QB he would be playing with, their OL, and possibly even scheme, of course, but given the opportunities, he's still a very good, if not great, receiver.

I was at that game with lots of family who are Bills fans. That was painful to see and cost us the game.
Iâll miss Jordy and he was a class act all the way.
The knee is fine. Has everyone already forgotten he was comeback player of the year in 2016?

When WRs get old, their production often drops off fast. He was not a 10 million dollar player anymore. If they offered him 2 million and he turned it down, good for him if he can get more.
All true. While I think he is still better than he looked with Hundley throwing to him 2017, it's erroneous to think he will be better this year than last, whatever that ceiling is/was, because his knee is better. He can still be very productive in the slot, even more so if we get a true deep threat. He is no longer worth 10 but he is worth more to this offense than 2.

....and Cook, and Findley in the past. The Packers offense was better with those guys in the lineup. Not only when the ball goes to them but they also draw coverage which opens up the offense as a whole. Can't remember where I saw it but Rodgers numbers and win/loss percentage is better with Findley and Cook than without. Can't wait to see Graham in this offense.
Think Jordy offers a lot in the locker room and red zone, but outside of that I'm not sure. Reported lowball Packer offer suggests the team preferred to just move on.
Jordy was worth $4-$5 million in Green Bay. Obviously Gute didn't think so.
It sucks all the way around. ð
Agree all the way around. I'm guessing Cobb's numbers prevent the 4-5M offer to Jordy.
Raiders trying to finalize deal today for former Packersâ WR Jordy Nelson, who still is in Oakland, sources tell ESPN. âThis is going to get done,â one source said of the talks. Nelson on his way to becoming a Raider.

ARZ is the stopover for QBs on their way to retirement.
OAK is the stopover for WRs on their way to retirement.
Is Findley related to Huntley?
Hope he gets good money and has a solid year, Oakland got better on offense. I'm glad he's in the AFC!
Hope he rips it up.
Ok, Iâm not moving to Ireland. âïļ and I can handle Jordy being in Oakland......will miss him terribly, and hope he has a good year.
You'll only move to Ireland if AR does.
I have both Rodgers and Carr in my fantasy keeper league, so I approve of this move
Not done yet!
The #Raiders deal for WR Jordy Nelson is not a done deal just yet. Iâm told they have real competition from the #Saints. They are making a hard push. The #Seahawks arenât out yet. Heâs still in Oakland, but...

Raiders, Saints, AND Seattle??? He is going to get a tonâO money. Oh, and Fedya, you know me all to well. Although my passport it current and ready to go, I could be in The Temple Bar in Dublin for St. Patrickâs Day. âïļâïļâïļ
On Jordy Nelson: Do not sleep on the #Seahawks. Why? In 2008, the #Packers traded back with the #Jets into the 2nd round to select Jordy Nelson. John Schneider was a big proponent of that trade in the GB war room. âĶ and obviously heâs now with the #Seahawks.

Raiders on our schedule for 2019 season, at Lambeau.
Now that Michael Crabtree is being released, there is a "high probability" that free-agent WR Jordy Nelson signs in Oakland, per source.

If accurate, good for Jordy.
I was close on the money.
$13 M guaranteed. That is fantastic. Super happy for Jordy
I was wrong on this move. Thought he would hang em up. Good for him and Iâm glad he is a Raider. I can root for him on that team.
What bigdoggy said.
Going from the most iconic NFL franchise to arguably the most iconic AFL franchise.
From what I've seen of that team they (and especially the QB and his potentially all world wideout) could use a healthy dose of what Jordy brings now -- experience, belief, and grace under pressure.
I hope he doesn't incur any serious injuries. We'll see him back at Lambeau, and often.

...they do have a cool clap though. (Appropriated as it is)
The most ironic franchise is the one owned by Alanis Morissette.
That joke smells like moth balls.
