The part I get annoyed with is not Tramon Williams saying stuff like that, it's that the media tries to create a controversy where none exists (per usual). I'm sure Williams was smiling and saying all this tongue in cheek, but they put it out there like he's talking trash. Even the local reporters don't mention that the player is laughing and joking while talking trash, they want it to be real smack talk.
Agree, but...

I'm a fan of Tramon. Good dude and a good player. You have to be a fantastic athlete to play in the NFL. Out of that group of players, there's a few special athletes. Guys that are just bigger, faster and stronger than everybody else. Calvin Johnson is one of them. While it probably won't have any outcome on the game, I wouldn't start humping his leg beforehand.

Still, not a big deal either way... I'd just prefer players in the GB locker room to not flap their gums before a game.

Its not his cumulative stats that hurt you, its the fact that he can go up and get a ball for a 1st down or a TD late in a close game even when the defense has perfect coverage.

#Packers practice: DE Neal returns. TE Quarless not practicing. RB J. White not here. CB Shields limited. Jennings, Woodson, Matthews out.

Good to see Neal return, though this is the day players need to practice and then see how they respond on Friday before determining active or not for Sunday.
Yes, Kuhn is practicing and so is Sherrod. This is week 2 off the PuP so they have to decide after next week.

Van Roten says he's ready if called upon.

More on the Megatron / Optimus Prime discussion:
@AnwarRichardson
#Lions Calvin Johnson on #Packers Tramon Williams saying he's Optimus Prime being motivation "It don’t do anything for me. It really don’t"
@TyDunne
McCarthy on Neal: Mike looked good today. Watched him in individuals. See how he responds tomorrow but like how he responded.

‏@TyDunne
McCarthy: Johnson an elite receiver. Demands attention. But not all on playing one guy. Need to win 1-on-1 battles, stay within defense.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on Kuhn: Thought John looked really good. Watched him in blitz pick-up. See how full week of work goes. Looked like old self today.

@TyDunne
McCarthy: Kuhn is very bright. Has knack, an understanding of gap integrity and where to fit in with protection.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on House handling harness: Big-time interception in red zone today. Seeing him make those plays he was making before inj in camp.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on Crosby: Have a lot of confidence in his ability to put the ball through the uprights.
after seeing the crap out there about AR and 60 Minutes and "sensitive" this morning, I read the below from the Whiner Hall of Famer Raiola (I can't stand raiola).

quote:
Lions center Dominic Raiola says his team still has a chance to make the playoffs, despite a 4-5 start. And he doesn’t appreciate suggestions otherwise.

“I think what makes me upset more is people are writing us off because of whatever,” Raiola told the Detroit Free Press. “But then the Saints are 4-5 and they’re right in the hunt. How the [bleep] does that work out? I don’t know. Whatever. We’re 4-5, too. So they’re basically writing us off.”

edit: as a friend so aptly pointed out, it's about history.

* Of the last three Packers coaches, Mike McCarthy has the best record after the bye. His teams have won five and lost only one. Mike Sherman was 4-2. Mike Holmgren’s Packers were 3-5 the week after the bye.

* The Packers have a 7-1 record in games at home after the bye week. They are 7-8 in games away after the bye week. This week’s game is in Detroit.

* Aaron Rodgers is 3-1 after the bye week as the Packers' starting quarterback. In 17 games after the bye week with the Packers, Brett Favre was 10-7.

#Packers inj: Driver prob, Green prob, G. Jennings out, Kuhn prob, Lang prob, Manning ques, CM out, Neal prob, Nelson prob, Quarless out...

TyDunne
MM: Kept Alex Green out today due to knee history. Expect him to be ready Sunday. Longer week. Practiced earlier.

@WesHod
MM on Green: Every player goes through examinations. We're just being smart with him. Practiced three other days

@TyDunne
MM: Confident football team but understand what's in front of us. Know importance of these division games.

@WesHod
Terrell Manning and Sam Shields are questionable for Sunday.

‏@WesHod
MM: The ability to generate pass rush on first down, we've done a good job of that. We're going to need that Sunday

@WesHod
Jordy Nelson is probable for Sunday #Packers

@TyDunne
MM: Everything we do starts with run defense. Doing a very good job there. Has improved. Every mtg, on both sides of ball, starts w/run game

@TyDunne
The key injuries: Sam Shields is questionable and Jordy Nelson is probable for the #Packers Sunday.

@TyDunne
MM: Don't want to give up on Derek Sherrod. Taking big steps. Just watching him, he's making strides. Has last hurdle to get over.

@WesHod
MM on Benson: Cedric had the opportunity to have some testing done. Everything was positive. His rehab has picked up Don't have a date he'll be ready.

@WesHod
MM: It's important for Tramon to be healthy. He fought through the whole season with injury. Back to where he was two years ago

@WesHod
MM on So'oto: I think his week's work has been good so far.

....CMIII loss by far the most concerning. oline remix seemed to play well when Buluga went out. Look for the Lions to play only 6 defenders in the box & make the Packers beat them with the run, if unable to, it sets up third & long, when they will really come after AR....key to game (IMHO)is our ability to run the ball. If we can't vs. 6 run defenders we will have trouble making big plays in passing game. If they have to move an extra guy into the box to stop the run AR should be able to shred their secondary. Lions are going to score points at home. I'm thinking it may take 30 pts. to win this game.

Don't lump me in with this madness. I say enough stupid **** as it is. Onward!
quote:

Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers pointing to a fascinating stat about the Lions in the fourth quarter:

"Here’s the thing about this team: You look at our game last year, we started the fourth quarter up 24-0, all right? And they scored two touchdowns. You look at this team, more so than any other team in the league, in the first three quarters they've scored 95 points; in the fourth quarter they've scored 118. So they've scored 23 more points in one quarter than they have in the other three combined. So you’d better be ready to play in the fourth quarter. Because I don’t know if there’s ever enough of a margin when you look at the games they've won. They've come back from big deficits and won three of those (four) games."

I wouldn't worry too much about the offensive line. (yet). Lang looked really good at RT against Arizona especially in the run game with Sitton on his left. I'm expecting some big holes to open up behind those two against the Lions poor run defense.
